Great to see the reuse in the Crinan Canal lock gates timbers at the end of their life! These timbers are so long lasting and durable, they can live a different life for decades after their first use is over! Circularity at its best with a natural material and very little processing to give it another life.
Also a pleasure to see the newer lock gate timbers supplied by ourselves in use! Always a great day out going through the beautiful Crinan Canal.

Timber Piers are a common landmark around Helensburgh and lochs around the area. Did you know they are carbon storing champions?!

We are delighted to share a film with Gavin Walker, Piermaster of Kilcreggan Pier, sharing his knowledge of the structure which remains a fully working pier since 1850s, with the Greenheart timbers have been in place since 1897.

Per m3 the timber used in these local piers (Greenheart Timber) stores just shy 1.24 tons of carbon, proven by our EPD which is a formal carbon study.

In context the main alternative harbour and built environment materials such as steel and concrete emit roughly the same amount of carbon.

Next time you take the ferry over to Gourock jump down to the beach and have a look!

The Kilcreggan Pier on the Clyde Estuary. Built in 1897 with Greenheart piles and still going strong. Withstanding 127 years of storms, heavy boat traffic an...

Well done to the P4-P7 children at at Christie Park Primary School who have been hard at work sizing and marking the cut lines for these gorgeous bird boxes. They will form part of Nature Walks with Gartocharn RSPB. We think they look great and hope they get lots of bird visitors! Thanks for sending in the pictures. RSPB Scotland
