Passivhaus new build.

Another great job that we’ve really enjoyed being part of, and lovely customers too 🙂

Huge south facing roofs that needed filling, we specified SolFit BIPV panels for a premium finish and they really do look great, nice clean finish with no visible fixings, these are the panels we have been going with for all of our in roof installations now unless trays are requested. SolFit are also a local company, based in Penrith.

As with all our in roof installations we specified ARC BOX fire protection on every panel connection.

Sigenergy inverter and battery complete with Gateway to back up the whole house for those frequent rural power outages.

39 x 425W SolFit BIPV panels (16.57kW total)
1 x 12kW inverter.
2 x 9kWh battery modules.
Gateway for full house backup.
ARC BOX fire protection.
ConduDisc earthing.

As a bonus a full 12kW unrestricted export to the grid was approved which is great.

Sigenergy double stack!

Must try harder at keeping up on here but this is a great job we completed last year. Our customer requested lots of battery storage due to frequent rural power outages that have known last days not hours.

Sigenergy was the obvious choice for us to specify and this setup will back up power to the house for 2 or 3 days if there is a power cut.

The customer also has the benefit of charging the batteries up on the cheaper night rate and they will then run the house all day long reducing the electricity bill.

2 x 8kW inverters in parallel (16kW total charge/discharge rate)
12 x 8kWh battery modules giving 96kWh of total storage.
Small solar array of 6 x 510W panels on the roof.
Gateway for whole house backup during power outages.
ConduDisc earthing.

Plenty of job satisfaction in this one and a nice tidy installation as you can see by the photos.

One of the battery installations we completed earlier in the year.

2 x All In One batteries complete with gateway for whole house backup during a power outage. Our customer had renovated their property and installed a heat pump, 27kWh of battery storage means in winter they will be able to charge the batteries on the cheaper night rate electric and run the heat pump (and everything else) through the day at a much more reasonable cost. They also have the benefit of having a solar system that was installed on the original Feed In Tariff which pays in excess of 70p per kW generated, the batteries can soak up the generation for use later in the day and the customer still gets the payment for the generated power.

Barn conversion in Wreay, this one was designed with the developer for maximum power!

44 x 435W panels all fitted in-roof
19.14kWp total
2 x 6kW SolaX inverters
GSE integration
ARC BOX fire protection

The system has been preforming very well since it was commissioned with daily generation ranging from 30kWh to 97kWh and averaging roughly 60kWh a day.

The calculations have been done for the energy running costs and with the heat pump they estimate that the house will cost…. negative £2000 to run annually, which is great news for whoever purchases the barn.

If the new owner decides to add battery storage they will have a fantastic system and a house which is very efficient to run.

Something else a bit different we’ve been working on in the last few weeks, a Victron off-grid system with a 5kWh battery to give the customer power and lighting in their storage unit until a mains supply is installed sometime in the future.

It’s the first time we’ve specified Solfit built in panels and we were very happy with them, they were lovely to fit, great quality and had a really nice finish (all roofed in now but no photos yet).

Really nice job we’ve been on for the last few weeks in Arnside, working on and off around the roofers whilst the house gets re-roofed.

19 x 430W panels front and back giving a total 8.17kWp, all fitted with ARC BOX fire protection on every MC4 connection. The customer specified a lead flashing to suit the traditional Burlington slate and it’s come out really well.

No batteries on this one as the customer wanted to keep install cost to a minimum. A SolaX 6kW inverter deals with the generation.

DNO approval for 6kW unrestricted output to the national grid via G99 application prior to starting the installation.

If you are interested in having solar PV installed as part of a re-roof please get in touch to discuss where we can help, on this occasion around 30m2 of Burlington slate was saved from being purchased.
