Problematic glow worm boiler finally up and running 👏
Been a nightmare this one!
Im not the biggest fan of the brand, I find them unreliable, which is weird considering they are owned by vaillant and I love their boilers 👌

So first things first, when I input this boilers code into various parts finder sites, it doesnt exist.
I had to call the manufacturer 3 times for part numbers, 2 of which times it was the wrong part coming up.

Initially I found the electrodes to be warped, swapped them and it fired up... once. Then found the spark gen to be faulty, swapped that and it threw up a gas valve fault, but that was ok so abit more testing later it is pointing towards the mother board. And now it works! Absolute nightmare getting parts, not a single local suppliers stocked any of the 3 bits i ended up changing and in most cases couldn't get one from over a week! The motherboard was meant to arrived Friday via priority delivery, but a useless supplier screwed me over by mixing it up with another order im trying to return, and this got delayed 3 days to today

So the other day I challenged my dog walker to provide me with fresh cookies, on a silver platter, with a daisy chain, specifically something resembling the world record (1.31 miles long)..
How do we think she did? The excuse for the lack of daisy chain was the farmer cut the field so they're all gone.... Obviously she is now fired, because that just wont do and now I can't be a princess with flowers in my hair 👸😂

Finished this today, old boiler was 20 years old, needed alot of work so gave the option of a repair or an upgrade

Immediately upon testing the gas it had a leak, which I found to be the hob, so that got changed today too.
The rules regarding leaks has recently changed, fully coming into force in October. Personally I'm already up to date and working to the new regulations.
It was not so fun trying to do the big step up carrying this, but as ever I got it done 👌

It would of been easier to do it properly, like it now has been 🤗
Its honestly quite entertaining... and wildly disturbing the level of competency I see more and more of these days 🙈 In other news, I had a gas safe inspection today - Inspector was very happy

What happens when unqualified, incompetent and downright dangerous workers instal things they arent qualified or competent to do so

Well, this... basically

Pressure discharge valve, screwed onto another discharge valve (I assume the first one failed when it was fitted, weird that)
No pressure reducing measures
No expansion vessel
Discharge not connected
Oh and dodgy electrics not sealed properly left on the floor below, that'll be why the power went out too 🙈

There are some dangerously incompetent people out there, but alot of people dont want plumbers or gas engineers anymore, you want what you perceive will be cheaper (often isn't) Can't moan when it all goes wrong and the cowboy dissappears 🫩🙄🤠🐎🐎🐎🐎

36kw boiler fitted in Ashford yesterday, Dare say we tidied up the pipework abit where possible/needed 🙈
Only so big because it's capable of giving up to 17 litres a minute of hot water, and this place has constant. Multiple outlet hot water demand all day
Removed the existing zones as one was broken and due to various extensions this building has had the pipework was crossed somewhere, so made it simpler by just having it one one circuit
