Recently completed garage conversion in Tenbury Wells.

The existing garage floor was sloped from back to front but using Cemfloor we managed to take the 100mm of fall out to leave a nice flat level floor.

Nice and local again today on this extension, as you can see it’s going to be a great space for good sized kitchen, pantry and utility room.

Cemfloor was the product chosen for this project due to its faster drying time to keep the job on track and doesn’t need the surface latency sanding like other liquid screeds.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of screeding a timber frame new build for Harry Moran in Corley.

We used Cemfloor screed on this project,
It’s a cement based screed so you don’t need to sand the surface back to remove latency and accelerate drying times like other screeds on the market, cement based screed also gives a much faster drying times.

All the preparation and underfloor heating was completed by others.

🛠️ Why You Must Sand a Gyvlon Screed Floor Before Laying Any Flooring 🛠️

If you’ve had a Gyvlon (liquid calcium sulphate) screed poured, you might be wondering why everyone keeps talking about sanding it. Here’s the simple truth:

👉 Gyvlon naturally forms a thin, dusty surface layer called laitance as it cures.
This layer is weak, powdery, and not bonded to the solid screed underneath.

👍 Sanding removes this weak top layer, which is essential before fitting:

✔️ Tiles
✔️ Laminate
✔️ LVT
✔️ Carpet
✔️ Any adhesive-based floor system

If you skip sanding:

❌ Adhesives won’t bond properly
❌ Floor coverings can lift or fail over time

Yesterday we poured this little screed job for a valued customer who carried out their own preparation for me to screed over.

This screed is called Gyvlon screed Finio this product allows us to screed down to as little as 20mm cover which is quite a bit shallower than the normal 35mm cover needed.
