Hi, I’m Thomas, the owner of TL Repairs. As we approach 5-6 years of trading, I thought it was the perfect time to introduce myself and share the story behind our company—how we started, our experience, and why we take so much pride in what we do.
Our Journey: A Passion for Spraying
Spraying has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I first picked up a spray gun at just 12 years old, inspired by my uncle, who ran his own car spraying business. Watching him work, I knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps.
After leaving school, I went to college to study car bodywork and spraying, where I earned my qualifications. From there, I worked alongside my uncle, gaining hands-on experience in smart car repairs and automotive refinishing. This early experience gave me an eye for detail and taught me the importance of precision, technique, and using the best materials—skills that would later become the foundation of TL Repairs.
When opportunities for apprenticeships were limited, I was fortunate enough to land a role at Tenacity Interiors, where I was introduced to a whole new world of refinishing—this time, on high-end bespoke kitchens and furniture. This was a game-changer for me. I spent years perfecting my craft, working on luxury kitchens and bespoke furniture, learning everything about surface preparation, high-end coatings, and specialist spraying techniques.
After that, I moved into surface repairs, specializing in restoring damaged surfaces rather than replacing them. This gave me a deeper understanding of how different materials react to refinishing, and it reinforced my belief that with the right skills and products, almost any surface can be saved, restored, and transformed.
The Birth of TL Repairs
With over a decade of experience in refinishing, an eye for perfection, and the huge support of my wife, Elisha , I decided to take the leap and start my own business. That’s how TL Repairs was born.
Our mission was simple: to provide top-tier refinishing services with an unbeatable finish, using only the best products on the market. We wanted to bring a high-end, factory-quality finish to people’s homes without the cost and hassle of replacing entire kitchens or furniture.
