L & K Warcup Construction Ltd has successfully completed a Section 106 sewer connection for a new housing development in Brough.
�✔ Excavation down to an existing 200mm sewer at a depth of 2.8m�✔ Installation of a new connection via a clay junction�✔ Installation of 100mm pipework�✔ Construction of a backdrop manhole at the site boundary, ready for future site connections�✔ Full reinstatement of excavations to highway specifications
✔️ All works signed off by local authority and water board engineers �✔ Works safely delivered under two-way temporary traffic management

🌦️ Another productive week for the team… despite the weather having other ideas! It’s supposed to be summer, isn’t it? ☀️😂

Here’s what we’ve been up to this week:

📍 Skirlaugh – Constructed a new vehicle access under temporary two-way traffic lights.

📍 Thorngumbald – Shuttered and poured concrete capping as part of an ongoing bridge repair project.

📍 Hull – Ongoing concrete yard repairs while expertly dodging the rain showers! 🌧️🌧️

📍 Lockington – Cleared debris and prepared the site for another bridge repair following vehicle damage.

Rain or shine (mostly rain this week! ☔), the team has been cracking on and delivering projects safely and efficiently across East Yorkshire.

🚐💨 It’s been a busy week for the team, clocking up the miles between Sunk Island, Bradford and Reedness!

We even drafted in our two new apprentices for a number of site visits 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

This week has seen us carrying out:

✔️ Headwall repairs thanks Paul Hobson 👍🧱the apprentices approved of Harry’s pointing 😂
✔️ Remedial works to a foul water pumping system ahead of adoption by the local water authority
✔️ Removal of grassed areas and tarmac surfacing works to create additional parking spaces

No two days are ever the same in our industry, and that’s exactly how we like it!

🚧 Hornsea Project Completion – Dual Driveway Installation 🚧

We’re proud to showcase the successful completion of two full driveway constructions on the same street in Hornsea—an opportunity that doesn’t come around often. Each project was tailored to the client’s requirements, resulting in two distinct finishes that both enhance usability, improve access, and help reduce on-street congestion.

Paved Driveway Installation
• Full excavation and installation of a durable hardcore sub-base with concrete footings
• Construction of new concrete block retaining walls
• Installation of 600 x 900 concrete paving slabs, laid on a full sand and cement bed for longevity
• Fence posts installed, ready for customer fencing

Tarmac Driveway Installation
• Excavation and installation of a 200mm Type 3 sub-base, fully compacted
• Charcoal brick sett border for a clean, defined finish
• New timber fencing with concrete posts
• Timber cladding applied to existing block wall
• Finished with 60mm 20mm open graded binder course and 25mm 6mm wearing course tarmac

🚗 Both properties now benefit from newly installed dropped kerb vehicle access, completed in line with ERYC highways specifications. All required permits were secured and works were formally approved by the area engineer.

🚛 Over 80 tonnes of material were removed from site along with all other aggregates brought in using our in-house haulage capabilities, ensuring efficiency from start to finish.

A big thank you to our dedicated team for delivering these projects to a high standard, and to Paul Hobson for helping on this project 🧱

We recently completed a full tarmac resurfacing project for a returning customer in Walkington, transforming an old and worn driveway into a clean, durable finish.

-Removal and disposal of the existing surface
-Regrading to achieve correct levels and depth
-Installation of new kerb edging
- Application of: 60mm 20mm Binder Course & 25mm 6mm Wearing Course

The result is a smooth, long-lasting surface that enhances both the appearance and functionality of the property.
