Busy Few Weeks at L & K Warcup 🚧

It’s been another busy few weeks for the L & K Warcup team, with a wide range of civil engineering and groundworks projects completed across the region.

From the installation of 2no. new sewage treatment plants, to creating a new Astroturf play area and carrying out tarmac surfacing to a number of areas, each project has been completed with safety, quality and practicality in mind — helping to create safer, more usable spaces for our clients.

Hull – Full Driveway Overhaul🚧

Another high-quality driveway transformation completed by the team at L & K Warcup Construction Ltd.

This tired concrete driveway was in need of a complete refurbishment. We also removed the existing gravel and grassed areas to create a much larger, more practical parking space, giving the property a clean, modern appearance while ensuring a durable finish built to last.

Project highlights:

✔ Full excavation to a depth of 260mm, with over 60 tonnes of material removed from site
✔ 175mm Type 3 stone sub-base laid and compacted
✔ Charcoal brick sett edging installed on a full concrete bed and surround
✔ New front step constructed
✔ Reclaimed granite setts installed around the existing reclaimed Hull City lamp post, creating a unique feature that complements the finished driveway
✔ Drainage channels installed in front of the garage to ensure effective surface water management
✔ Fresh topsoil applied to the garden borders
✔ Finished with a 60mm 20mm open-graded binder course and 25mm 6mm open-graded wearing course, providing a high-quality permeable surface
✔️ All materials moved with our own haulage fleet 🚛

The finished result has completely transformed the front of the property, delivering a practical, hard-wearing driveway with a standout feature that preserves a piece of Hull’s history.

Sunk Island | Groundworks Completed for a New Workshop Build

L & K Warcup Construction Ltd recently completed the full groundworks package for a new bike workshop on behalf of HyperBikes 🏍️

Our scope of works included:
✔️ Full site strip
✔️ Footings excavated and concrete poured
✔️ 40 tonnes of recycled hardcore delivered by our own fleet, laid and compacted to a depth of 150mm 🚛
✔️ 150mm C35 mesh-reinforced concrete slab poured

A big thank you to D & J Pump Hire Ltd for the concrete pump and Sandsfield RMC Ltd for the concrete supply. As always, an excellent service from both companies.

Bishop Wilton – New Build Drainage

Following the construction of a new-build bungalow in Bishop Wilton, our team was instructed to install the foul and surface water drainage systems.
Big boss was happy when he visited 😂

✔️ Foul water drainage installed and connected to the existing system
✔️ Surface water gullies and drainage runs excavated and installed
✔️ Surface water soakaway crates installed with a gravel surround
✔️ All works completed and signed off by Building Control
✔️ Site left clean, tidy, and ready for the client to continue with the external works

🚧 Market Weighton – Tarmac Driveway Refurbishment 🚧

When our customer got in touch, their existing tarmac driveway had become tired and worn after years of use. We removed the old surface and transformed it with a brand-new, long-lasting finish.

✅ Old tarmac surface removed
✅ Area prepared and re-levelled
✅ 60mm thick 20mm binder course laid
✅ Finished with a 25mm thick 6mm SMA wearing course

A great transformation and another quality project completed by our experienced team.

Anyone else regretting choosing the construction industry this week? 🦺☀️🥵

We all wish for summer and dry weather so we can crack on, then we’re hit with a heatwave that makes working outside absolutely brutal.

Despite that, we keep going so our customers don’t have to worry about jobs starting late or deadlines slipping… even if they’re sat in air-conditioned offices! 😅 It’s never easy in this industry, but we do our best to keep things moving whatever the weather throws at us.

A massive thank you to the team this week. From installing drainage for a new-build property, pouring garage footings, to constructing a heavy-duty concrete farm access, they’ve dug deep, persevered, and got the job done. 💪👏

If you need us, feel free to get in touch over the weekend, I won’t respond as I’ll be cooling off with a well-earned b**r! 🍺😅

🚧 Brough – Section 106 Mains Sewer Connection Completed 🚧

L & K Warcup Construction Ltd has successfully completed a Section 106 sewer connection for a new housing development in Brough.
�✔ Excavation down to an existing 200mm sewer at a depth of 2.8m�✔ Installation of a new connection via a clay junction�✔ Installation of 100mm pipework�✔ Construction of a backdrop manhole at the site boundary, ready for future site connections�✔ Full reinstatement of excavations to highway specifications
✔️ All works signed off by local authority and water board engineers �✔ Works safely delivered under two-way temporary traffic management
