Art, activities, music, food!

Come explore these amazing community hubs, find out about their work and how Power Hull is building community-owned energy in the area 🌞

Saturday 29 August, 11am–4pm.

Start your trail from any of these four locations:
- Vulcan Centre (HU3 3PF)
- Lonsdale Community Centre (HU3 6PA)
- St Matthew's Parish Hall (HU3 2TA)
- 23 Arthur Street Unit (HU3 6BH)

It's free, and all ages and postcodes are welcome! You can sign up on Eventbrite to receive any updates, but there's no need to book :)

📣We’re on the BBC!

We’ve been featured on BBC News for our plan to launch Hull's first local energy club: Power Plangeo. We've already installed 23 solar panels at the Lonsdale Centre, saving them thousands of pounds a year. Now it's time to scale up, and we need your help.

We secured a £35k grant from Great British Energy to set up Power Plangeo, but grant rules mean we can't use it for an Energy Local training course we need. Without this training, we can't properly run the club.

We need £1,250 for:
⚡ Energy Local training course (£720)
⚡ Trainer travel & accommodation (£480)
⚡ Platform fees (£50)

One down, where’s next? 👀

We just turned the Lonsdale Centre into Hull's first community POWER STATION 💪

£20k from Northern Power Grid Foundation, 23 solar panels, 24 kWh battery, installed by local firm Pure Renewables.

Energy bills slashed, power for 2 days when the grid fails 🔌

This was a big first step for us, so we celebrated with a special edition solarpunk Waffle 🌞❤️

What’s next? Hull's first local energy club launches in 2026, where buildings like this sell power directly to people in the area.
