Throwback to last year!

Kingfisher was our first bipropellant engine which we successfully fired twice at Race2Space 2024. We have learned so much from this as we try to improve our design for this year, coming soon...

Two days in, we have already raised over £500! If we keep this up then we are sure to reach our goal - but we cannot do this without your support.

By donating, you have a chance to receive custom rewards as a thank you for your support. Some of the rewards include t-shirts, posters, stickers and other goodies all designed by our talented artist and graphic designer .in.the.corner

Here is a showcase of some of the designs (keep in mind they are still work in progress!)

Stay tuned for more updates. Let's build this rocket! 🚀

Project Hurricane is KURE's most ambitious initiative yet - aiming to design, manufacture, and launch our first bi-propellant (liquid-fuelled) rocket, with a goal of breaking the current UK amateur altitude record of 11.4km (37,500 ft). This will be the biggest rocket ever built by UK students and it is planned to launch in September from the Mojave desert in the United States.

An exciting progress update on Project Hurricane:

The final design is quickly approaching completion! We are now ready to start building some of the systems, with the engine manufacturing already in progress.

This will be the largest rocket ever built by UK students - the man in the picture is 6ft tall for scale. The planned launch date is 20th September 2025, from the Mojave desert in the US.

However, we still need your support. Later this week we will be publishing a fundraising campaign on KU Backer, where you can donate to this project. Of course, perks and rewards will be available!
