Fruix Storage makes moving into storage even easier with new van hire service

Fruix Storage is making moving into storage even simpler with the launch of Fruix Van Hire on 1 October 2026. Customers will be able to hire a medium-sized van directly from Fruix, which is between Kinross and Dunfermline, at Junction 5 of the M90.

The idea has come from Andrew and Fiona, who run Fruix Storage, they have been watching their customers turn up in hired vans for years.
“If you are moving house, clearing a property, moving business stock or simply bringing larger items into storage, hiring a van makes the whole process much easier.” Says Andrew.

From 1st October, the van and the storage are now in the same place, customers can now book online in advance, simply drive to Fruix, park their car safely, collect the van and get on with the move. Once loaded, they can return to Fruix and unload directly into their storage. When finished, they can refuel on the way back and return the van.

Van hire is a new area for Fruix, so Andrew and Fiona wanted to make sure they could offer the same straightforward, reliable experience their customers expect from their storage. Getting it right was their main aim and it wasn’t until their research led them to meet Jim Reid, they saw a real solution. Jim Reid Hire is an established family business from Kintore, with years of experience within the motor and hire trade.

Jim comments. “The team at Jim Reid Hire are very excited to be working on this new collaboration with Fruix Van Hire. We feel that our two family businesses align very well and hold the same family values.”

With Jim Reid Hire providing the expertise and systems behind the new service, which will initially start with one medium-sized van. It is expected the fleet expected will grow to offer long term hires and develop to provide what customers need.

We are looking for an experienced bricklayer to build the internal walls in the new units. The building is 6m x 24m, it will form six new units so there are five walls to build.

We're planning on sending much more furniture south of the border and we'd love some professional assistance in doing so

This will mainly be bedroom sets and potentially sideboards, bookcases etc

A two person team is essential and we always like to ensure the furniture is in place for our customer (not door step delivery)
