This remarkable Grade II Listed building, dating back to 1897, has been meticulously brought back to life while honouring its rich heritage as home to judicial professionals serving Lancaster Castle.

What We've Achieved:

🏛️ Full internal renovation creating 4 luxurious high-end apartments

Designed to impress. Engineered for the future.
This detached new build combines timeless Yorkshire stone with striking Douglas fir vertical cladding, creating a home that feels both grounded and contemporary.

Inside, a grand entrance leads to an expansive kitchen and dining space, with floor-to-ceiling glazing that floods the home with natural light and elevates everyday living.

Behind the scenes, it’s just as impressive — ultra-low airtightness, A-rated EPC, and powered by a large solar array with battery storage and a 6kW inverter.

Luxury Redefined: The Canal-Side Masterpiece

This was one of the more technically challenging projects at SR Design & Build Ltd, and I’m incredibly proud of the result.

We dug this one right into a canal embankment, with the water sitting at a higher elevation at the rear. It required some serious engineering for the semi-basement ground floor, but the outcome is a rock-solid, A-rated energy-efficient home.

Even with no rear windows on the ground floor, we used a clever lighting design to make sure the space feels flooded with natural light. Inside, the client went to town—high-end finishes from top to bottom.

Designed with real attention to detail – larch cladding, seamless metal roof, oak features throughout. Both are AA energy rated, which means they'll perform beautifully for the people who live in them.

The views across to Warton Cragg are something special. These aren't projects we're building to shift quickly. They're homes we're genuinely proud of.
