Another quality roofing detail completed this week — a new lead valley installation using Code 5 lead throughout.

For long-term performance and to comply with best practice, the valley was installed in 1200mm sections to allow for natural contraction and expansion caused by temperature changes. Each section was formed and dressed carefully with 6-inch overlaps to ensure a secure, weatherproof finish while maintaining proper water flow down the valley.

Leadwork is one of the most important details on any roof, and getting the expansion joints, laps, and formation right is key to preventing future splitting or failure. Taking the extra time to install it correctly ensures durability, longevity, and a clean traditional finish that will stand the test of time.

Another flat roof transformation completed!

This roof was previously suffering from pooling water, with visible standing patches after rainfall – a common issue that can lead to premature wear, leaks, and long-term structural damage if left untreated.

We stripped things back and installed a new EPDM system, ensuring a smooth, clean finish with improved drainage to eliminate water buildup. The result? A durable, weatherproof surface built to last for decades with minimal maintenance.

Another quality re-roof completed 🏠

We’ve just finished a full strip and re-roof on this property, replacing the old, worn materials with a brand new tiled system for a clean, modern finish. The job included new, neatly installed tiles throughout to ensure long term performance.

Special attention was given to the details precision cut valleys with new leadwork, tidy ridge lines, and a professionally finished chimney area making sure everything is both watertight and built to last.

Not only does this upgrade transform the look of the home, but it also improves weather resistance, ventilation, and overall durability for years to come.

The transformation from unused roof space to a functional living area is now really taking shape. With the structural steels fully installed, along with the new rafters and joists, the main framework is complete and the new loft structure is solid and secure.

The dormer has been built and fully formed, significantly increasing the usable floor space and head height while also altering the external appearance of the property. Seeing it completed makes a huge difference both inside and out.

Externally, the roof is coming back together nicely, with half of it now re-tiled as works continue to make everything watertight. Inside, the staircase installation has started, defining the new access point and properly connecting the loft to the rest of the house.

Plaster boarding is also underway, enclosing the structure and giving each room its proper shape and proportions. At this stage, you can really begin to visualise how the finished space will look and feel.

There’s still more to complete, but the build is progressing well and the space is developing exactly as planned. More updates to follow as work continues

Loft conversion officially underway 🏠🔨
We’ve stripped the roof right back, removing the old roof tiles, rafters and joists to give us a completely clean starting point. Structural steel beams have now been installed, and from there the new framework has gone in, with brand new rafters and joists in place to form the backbone of the new loft space.

It’s a big job and not the most glamorous stage, but this structural work is crucial and sets everything up for what comes next. Amazing to see how much progress has already been made and how the shape of the new space is starting to take form.

Still early days, but this creates a solid foundation for the rest of the build. More updates to follow as the conversion continues.
