We won a project at the end of 2023, however; two planning applications were needed to be made to the council prior to starting. As the building is listed, consent for the replacement of the existing fire escape with new access platform and alterations to fenestration was required.

The council decision was made at the end of April, with our start date being in the near future. This is once the asbestos has been removed by a approved contractor.

We have completed a number of projects near the M4 corridor. This task was a reactive project where we needed to complete emergency roof repairs to a medical centre roof in South Oxford.

The roof was leaking in multiple areas causing damp, mould and issues within areas that were out of bounds. We removed the previous repairs, added gulley and recoated.

With the river running alongside, it was a lovely project to complete. The medical centre were very grateful for our quick response.

We have won a contract on the Isle of Sheppey completing heating system upgrades for the NHS Property Services Ltd. This project will be commencing soon and will last for seven weeks.

A follow on from a previous post and a completed project from our C & L Carpentry Southern Ltd company.

Delivered and installed. Our custom Walnut framed gloss front unit we shared earlier on this week.

One of our bespoke master bedroom fitouts. Unlike most we manufacture these in house from our workshops within Fort Fareham. Handles were also handmade in American White Oak to match our bespoke design within the central door line. Colour matched and sprayed in house to produce a great hardwearing finish.

Staying a little more local to our main office. We won a recent contract to carry out acoustic works to a exam room and fitness suite in a private school in Southampton.

The project involved:
- Carpentry
- Decoration
- Suspended Ceilings
- Acoustic Insulation
- Acoustic Flooring
- Electrical Works

C&L Carpentry have recently completed the like for like walnut doors to match the existing kitchen to hide away some storage.
From premium interior finishes, to listed and conservation bespoke joinery, this is all produced within our C&L group.

The team have been busy with their training in the most recent months completing new courses and / or refreshing their knowledge.

We have covered the following this year:
- Seminar regarding Training Matrix
- Newly qualified SSSTS member
- Attended the Annual Safety Forum for HCS Safety
- All of our operatives completed their Working at Height Awareness
- All of our operatives completed their Manual Handling
- Seminar on understanding the 5 steps of Risk Assessments
- Seminar on COSHH Essentials
- Seminar on Managing Stress
- All of our operatives completed their Abrasive Wheels Safety
- All of our operatives completed their UKATA Asbestos Awareness

This coming month:
- We have another operative attending his SSSTS Course
- We have an operative attending his SMSTS Course

As you can see we have been busy, but making sure our operatives are as upskilled as possible means we are enhancing their knowledge.
