Machells custom made Oak doors from initial enquiry to end product......

Back in winter one of our longstanding clients came to us with an enquiry for a new Oak front door, for initial inspiration we were given an image that our clients had seen on the internet from that we were able to provide a scale drawing for approval then manufacture the door, the end result is stunning.

Another commercial project that Machells have recently been involved with is the fit out of The Beverley Clinic in Gateshead.
One of our recommended fitters Joe Hendrie of Padauk Carpentry & Joinery Ltd came to us back in summer with some plans and images and said " we're going to make this " after a lot of head scratching and pencil chewing we came up with what we believed to be the best way of manufacturing pre-finished components that allowed Joe to assemble these simple but very sophisticated shelving and display units in situ, we also provided the materials needed to clad the bespoke seating area. We used engineered European oak throughout this job, finished with a bespoke Walnut stain and Bona HD for added durability the end results speak for themselves. Congratulations to Joe on a job well done.

Machells have recently been involved with another fantastic commercial project The Hide Hotel at Chatsworth, set in moorland at the edge of the Chatsworth Estate the Hide is a place to relax, reconnect and take advantage of all the Peak District has to offer.

Our remit for this client was to make a floor that was in keeping with the moorland setting that this boutique hotel occupies, we brushed our engineered oak then fumed it for a few days to bring out the natural colouration in the timber then sealed it with Bona HD traffic for durability.

As always Paul Winder and his team at https://www.windercarpets.co.uk/ did a fantastic job with the install.

Back in June when the sun was shining Machells were approached by a Skipton based building contractor to provide bespoke engineered oak cladding and nosings to clad a small concrete stair in a garden room extension they were doing in Ilkley.

The site joiner produced a rough drawn but size accurate sketch which allowed us to manufacture all the required components and pre-finish them in our medieval stain with 2 coats of hard wax oil which is the same finish as the floor that Machells had previously supplied for this property.

The result is a really effective and elegant transition between the new extension and the main house,

The pictures shown are of a luxury Chalet style property where our client had the foresight and imagination to visit us here at the yard and pick out a selection from our genuine reclaimed mixed width pine cladding, used along with a few feature beams the end result is stunning.

Machells can also manufacture contemporary style joinery, the images show a extension designed by our friends at Design Emporium Ilkley, the client wanted a more modern design for their new Oak door so after some initial inspiration we produced cad drawings then manufactured the external oak door and casing with two side lights as shown, we finished the door and casing with our dark oak stain and a durable water based external sealing system.

Machells also do Parquet !!

The images shown are of a fantastic property in Menston West Yorkshire where the client decided on a large parquet block 600mm x 100mm laid in a classic herringbone pattern, we'd prefinished the floor with a rich dark oak stain and two coats of hard wax oil.

We also provided the prefinished oak which matched the flooring to create the shelving above the lower stairs, really clever use of dead space that looks stunning.

Machells have a long-standing relationship with our good friends Bermuda Brickyard and we're proud of the projects that we've been involved with on the Island over the years.

The pictures shown are of a South shore property where the architect wanted to introduce some classic Colonial style features to the interior, we supplied our period engineered flooring along with reclaimed oak beams that we'd cut to size stained and polished, the staircase that we manufactured and supplied is the centre piece in the entrance hall and looks stunning.
