"A super busy period at W T Hall builders and some very exciting news. After helping Zero Carbon Harrogate with there homeowners event, and currently going through a big phase on our current extension in .

In-between this I owe a big thanks to Adam Harper helping us and putting me in touch with for more training on my and journey as I already have my Passive House Institute tradeperson certificate my next step has been the Passivhaus retrofit delivery course, which I completed.

It was extremely informative and great to speak to other people about their issues and problems from design to getting over the issues on site as well learning even more in Passivhaus and retrofit.

Construction York are also helping some of my subcontractors with the Passivhaus Bitesize course, so we can be happy more people are on site, all on the same page working towards the goal of delivering the best project possible.

I'm also doing a 15 week part time course on Cad in construction to help me progress working along side architects & desingers in projects to help develop the best performance build possible and also mindful of what is going to be the most cost efficient method for clients budgets in delivering that performance.

My Grandad always said you never stop learning in this game, and I truly believe his words and will continue to keep learning and improving.

With this in mind and wanting to share my knowledge and help others, we are happy to announce we are offering a 2 week work placement for anyone wanting to come along and work alongside me and see how a small team dedicates themselves to delivering a high standard of retrofit and general works."

Quiz time!❓ 💡 Do you know what percentage of women work in the construction industry in the UK?

As of 2023, it’s 15.8%.

That’s actually a big jump up from 12.6% before the pandemic.

But it’s still not a lot, is it?

And a tiny 9.2% of those women are working in higher paid roles.

Think Circle’s Women in Leadership course is designed to help more women progress in (and into!) leadership positions.

Not only will you learn how to identify your leadership style and develop the tools to move your career forwards, you’ll be joining a brilliant community of women who are also working in the construction industry, and forging a support network for the future.

If you’re a woman living in North Yorkshire and you’d like to progress your career (or if you know someone who fits this description!), you can find out more and sign up for the January cohort at:

https://constructionyork.co.uk/opportunities/women-in-leadership/

Full funding available for York businesses.

Construction York is run by CHY Consultancy, supported by City of York Council and funded by the UK Government.

Women in Leadership is run by Think Circle and The Coders Guild.
