🛠️ 50+ bays of timber pales installed ✅
🐐 Paige & Harley couldn’t resist a quick goat chat ✅
🌟 Keeping the Hovingham Primary kids entertained with llamas & alpacas ✅

Two solid weeks back at Catch Leeds, doing what we do best — this time adding timber pales to the palisade fence separating them from Hovingham Primary School. Over 50 bays later, the fence is solid, the animals are happy, and the kids can still spot their favourite llamas and alpacas from the playground.

Of course, no visit is complete without a little animal chaos… Paige and Harley made sure of that 👀🐐. Next up? Measuring the viewing portals so the young ones don’t miss a single alpaca wink.

⚡ Wired up and running perfectly by the legends at AC Secure ✅

Another big job at Bruntcliffe Academy, where we’ve done plenty over the years. This one was all about strength, precision, and teamwork — the cradle to sit the rollers and motor on was an absolute monster, but our lads got it in place like pros.

Working alongside AC Secure (the sparky heroes who make everything run smooth) made the day fly by. Another job done, another school secured, and another happy team at Wrightway UK 👀

Six hours each way, a truck barely squeezing down back lanes, and Richard — our founder — actually on the tools (don’t worry, Ol kept an eye on him 👀). The result? Absolute perfection. Sleek automated gates that open like a dream, with a finish so good even the Welsh countryside was jealous.

And yes — this epic job came to us thanks to a bit of Facebook magic 😉

We recently installed these gorgeous gates at a home in Leeds, complete with a charming little arch — simple, elegant, and just the right finish to a beautifully revamped outdoor space.

Think welding is just banging metal together? Think again 😏 Here’s some weird & surprising stuff about the world of sparks and metal:

The world’s longest continuous weld? was set in Brazil during the construction of the Espírito Santo gas pipeline, where welders completed a continuous pipeline weld that stretched over 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles). 😲

Welders can actually see UV light from the arc if they’re not protected… yes, it burns ⚡

Welding in space is real 🚀 using a process known as cold welding. This method allows metals to fuse together without the need for heat, making it suitable for the vacuum environment of space.

Helmets didn’t always auto-darken – early welders had to flip the visor every time before striking an arc. Madness 😅

Perfect welds are sometimes called “smooth as chocolate” 🍫 because we humans can’t resist a satisfying finish

Thought you knew welding? Think again 😏 Here’s some welding & fab facts that might blow your mind (and maybe a few sparks 💥):

1️⃣ Welding has been around since 4000 BCE – basically, blacksmiths were the OG welders.
2️⃣ Arc welding was invented in 1881 by Nikolay Benardos – science + sparks = genius.
3️⃣ A welding arc can reach 6,500°F – hotter than the surface of Venus 🌋.
4️⃣ Sparks can fly up to 35 feet – that’s farther than your Monday morning attention span 😂.
5️⃣ The Eiffel Tower literally grows and shrinks up to 6 inches with temperature changes – all thanks to metal and precision welding.
6️⃣ Welding is even done in space 🚀 – floating sparks and zero gravity, anyone?
7️⃣ Fabricators argue with tape measures more than most couples argue about IKEA instructions 🤯
