🚨 Emergency Booster Set Replacement Completed

Following an out-of-hours call-out after a customer's booster set failed, our engineers responded quickly to restore service and minimise disruption by placing the system onto bypass.

With the urgency of the situation, a replacement booster set was sourced within 48 hours, while our team fabricated the required stool pieces in-house to ensure a seamless installation.

The night before the installation, engineers attended site at midnight to replace several failing 5-inch valves. The following day, the new booster set was installed, commissioned and fully brought back into service.

Another fantastic effort by the team to deliver a fast, efficient solution and keep our customer's operations running.

💧 Full Tank Clean, Chlorination & Service Completed

Another domestic water storage system brought back to life by the team.

Our engineers recently attended a residential property to carry out a full tank clean, chlorination and service after concerns about the condition of the system.

The tank was drained, cleaned and disinfected before the system was recommissioned. As part of the visit, the booster equipment was also fully serviced, checked and tested to ensure everything was operating correctly and efficiently.

Regular tank cleaning and chlorination helps maintain water quality, reduce the risk of contamination and prolong the life of pumps, controls and associated equipment.

📍 Birmingham Apartment Block – Emergency Pump Repair

Another rapid response callout completed by the NT Cloke Pumps & Water team.

The caretaker of a Birmingham apartment block contacted us after discovering water leaking from a booster pump within the plant room. One of our engineers attended site promptly to investigate and quickly identified a failed mechanical seal as the cause of the issue.

To prevent further leakage and protect the equipment, the affected pump was isolated immediately while we sourced the correct replacement parts. Once the new mechanical seal arrived, we returned to site and carried out a full strip-down of the pump, replacing the failed components and carefully reassembling the unit.

As the photos show, there was significant wear and corrosion around the seal assembly, making a complete repair essential to ensure long-term reliability.

Following installation, the pump was fully tested, recommissioned and returned to service. We also completed a courtesy service inspection of the booster set to ensure the entire system was operating as expected before leaving site.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH – MAY ⭐

This month’s Employee of the Month goes to none other than our very own Nick Cloke 👏

Now, before anyone starts asking questions… no, this wasn’t rigged, and no, nobody was forced to write this post. Honest.

Running a business means wearing a lot of hats, spinning a lot of plates, and somehow still finding time to look after customers, support the team, and keep everything moving in the right direction. Nick does all of that day in, day out.

He’s always there when customers need him, always willing to go the extra mile, and never afraid to roll his sleeves up when the job calls for it.

Do we tell him often enough? Probably not.

So, today we’re giving credit where it’s due and saying a massive thank you for everything he does behind the scenes to keep Cloke moving forward.

And no, his Employee of the Month award definitely wasn’t because he celebrated his 40th birthday in May… 👀🎂

🔧 Apprentice Spotlight – Inverter Replacement at a Local School 🏫

A great job completed this week by our nearly qualified apprentice, Jack Gunn, who carried out an inverter replacement on a booster set at a local school.

The inverter had failed, affecting the operation of the water booster system. Working alongside the team, Jack diagnosed the issue, safely replaced the faulty unit, recommissioned the system and restored the equipment back to full operation.

What makes this one extra special is that the project formed part of Jack's final apprenticeship assessment.

🚨 Emergency Booster Set Repair – Nationwide Hotel Chain, Birkenhead 🚨

Our engineers recently attended a Nationwide Hotel Chain in Birkenhead, Liverpool after all three Hydrovar drives failed, resulting in a complete loss of water across the hotel.

Following fault diagnosis, we quickly sourced and fitted three new Hydrovar units before carrying out a full service and recommission of the booster set to restore reliable operation.

🔧 Emergency Heating System Leak Repair | Leicester School 🏫

Our engineers attended a Leicester school after reports of a leak within the site’s heating system plantroom.

On arrival, the team quickly identified the issue as a leaking flexible connector/bellows on the Wilo heating circulator pipework. As heating systems begin shutting down for the warmer months, pipework naturally contracts as temperatures reduce — often exposing weak points and causing leaks to appear around joints, connections and bellows.

The leak was causing system pressure loss across the heating network, with pressurisation equipment actively trying to maintain pressure within the system.

Our engineers carried out immediate remedial works on site, tightening and securing the affected connections before checking the wider system operation, pressure stability and associated plant equipment.
