We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Working Foreperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills and supervising experience. This role is essential for ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Position: Working Foreperson

Location: Batley WF17 9DD

Duration: 18 weeks

Commencement date: with immediate effect

Requirements: CSCS & First Aid

Working hours: 8am – 16:30pm

Project brief: External façade upgrades to four low level blocks of private flats. Open and close site daily, ensure operatives sign in and out daily, induct new persons on site, point of contact for operatives working on site and deliveries, ensure site is tidy. Have tools to be able to assist with some smaller trades that are not being packaged out e.g. cleaning gutters, stripping out rotten timber work with localised making good.

Hourly rate: TBC on merit of experience.

Have you put your clocks back? 🕑

Fact:
Daylight Saving Time (DST) is the practice of setting clocks one hour ahead of Standard Time during the summer months and turning them back again in the fall.

The main purpose is to make better use of natural daylight: by shifting the clock forward in the spring, we gain more daylight in the evenings during summer. In the fall, turning the clock back provides more daylight in the mornings throughout winter.

The team had to rip out the old floor because it was full of woodworm and damp. The boards were crumbling and the joists were starting to rot.

Everything was taken out down to the base.

Once it was cleared, we sorted the damp, laid a waterproof membrane, and put in a solid new floor.

To help the space breathe and stay dry, we added an air brick for ventilation.

Now the floor is solid, dry, and properly ventilated — a big improvement from what was there before.

A full gutter clearance was carried out at a recent property. The gutters had a significant build-up of organic debris, primarily consisting of fallen leaves, compacted moss, and general dirt accumulation. These materials were causing restricted water flow and posed a risk of overflow and potential water damage.

All gutters around the property were thoroughly cleared using a combination of manual removal and gutter vacuum equipment to ensure even compacted debris was removed efficiently.

Downpipes were inspected and found to have partial blockages due to accumulated moss and sludge. These were flushed and checked to ensure free-flowing drainage.

The external drainage point connected to the guttering system was also cleared of leaf litter and silt to prevent any backup into the downpipes.

A final water test was conducted to ensure all gutters and drains were flowing correctly and draining as intended. Great job by the PCG team.

This project involved the installation of a new natural stone flagstone path leading from the front of the house to a newly installed gate, enhancing both the functionality and curb appeal of the property. The existing access area was cleared and excavated to prepare a proper base for the flagging.
