Polyformes is a closed cell foam converter i.e. we machine foam sheets and blocks and make finished products and components. We specialise in polyethylene foam materials and supply sheets, cut pieces, blocks, case inserts, tool control trays, exercise mats, printed fabric on foam products - you name it, we can usually make it in foam. We operate from a 55000 sq ft site, with a main manufacturing u

nit of 30000 sq ft. Polyformes is probably Europe's largest foam converter of Plastazote, Ethafoam, Stratocell and Microlen foams. We are also the UK's biggest supplier of Explorer waterproof cases. We supply the full range of Explorer Cases, either with routed foam inserts or empty as required. Our foam packaging conversion plant offers cushioning foam inserts, foam protection and packaging across all industries. We specialise in CNC foam routing, Plastazote foam laser engraving and thermoforming, water-jet cutting, fabric-to-foam lamination and a complete design and solutions answer for the packaging and foam industry.

into 6000+ enterprises across 100+ countries…
“The Polyethylene Foam Market is projected to register a CAGR of
greater than 3% during the forecast period (2024-2029).”

The report also states that one of the main reasons for the projected
growth is down to people using foam ‘more and more for packaging’.
So, why is foam packaging superior to other types of packaging, and
being used by all types of businesses and organisations?
Well, the answer to that question comes a little further down the
report where it says –
“Packaging applications are anticipated to dominate the
polyethylene foam between 2024 and 2029 market due to its
excellent properties, such as its lightweight nature, resistance to
moisture and heat, frost protection, and shock and vibration
absorbance.”

Of course, these stats are no surprise to the team at Polyformes, or

Bespoke Foam Trays and Foam Inserts are an excellent method of showing off what you do and making you stand out from the crowd.

You can have the protection the products/parts deserve and it can go along with ‘looking good’.

Things do not have to look drab. Colour combinations, printing and lasering can be used to add to the presentation of the product. In combination with any of the cases, trays or boxes we can provide you, it can increase the perception of what you offer.

Polyformes routs more Polyethylene foam inserts than any other UK company, utilising the highest number of machine heads. We are able to achieve high quality, high volume output of both two and three dimensional PE foam parts.

Variable bed size allows us to produce exceptionally large pieces for industrial and commercial customers including those in the aerospace, defence and promotional sectors.

As well as a series of two-head foam routers with piggyback heads, we also have a four-head machine which can process four foam inserts at once.

We manufacture bespoke flight cases and road trunks at our factory -­ any quantity, any size, with a choice of catches and finishes. Our standard cases are made from traditional ply with either a stucco or coloured laminate finish, or from lighter weight black, red, green or blue Astraboard.

This is a 7mm polypropylene sandwich construction that can weigh up to 40% less than the equivalent thickness laminated plywood and is strong yet lightweight.

We also produce cases with a hexagon pattern board or diamond pattern board finish if required. Should you have a special requirement for an alternative material flight case, or a different finish such as carpet, we can make these for you too.

Polyformes foam tray tool control solutions are employed not only by fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft during factory floor assembly, but by the component industries who serve the airspace sector too e.g. aero engine assembly and ejector seat production.

Polyformes provides countless tool trays in dual colour foam for this purpose. As well as providing and machining the foam inserts specific to the program or tool requirement, the factory tote tray containers can also be supplied.
