🚨 Big news for off-grid homes & businesses 🚨
At MJS Energy, we’re excited to see a major step forward from the government — with new plans that directly support properties living off the gas grid and push the UK further towards renewable, independent energy ⚡️🌱
💷 The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is set to increase to £9,000 for eligible homes using oil or LPG
🏡 Targeted support for rural properties hit hardest by rising fuel costs
🔥 Applies to air-to-water & ground source heat pumps (not biomass or air-to-air)
⏳ Important: This isn’t live just yet
📅 Expected to open around July 2026 (for this financial year only)
📌 Until then, current grant levels still apply
There are also further scheme updates coming 28 April 2026, with more guidance to follow.
This all sits within a much bigger strategy led by Ed Miliband and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero — focused on:
⚡️ Reducing reliance on volatile gas markets
🔌 Moving towards electrification
🌍 Investing in UK-based renewable energy
🏗 Expanding infrastructure, including large-scale systems on brownfield land
We’re also seeing industry leaders like Heat Geek continue to push for higher standards — focusing on efficiency, system design, and real-world performance 👌
👉 For off-grid properties, this is a huge moment
If you’re currently using oil or LPG, this is your opportunity to:
✔️ Reduce running costs
✔️ Improve efficiency
✔️ Future-proof your home or business
At MJS Energy, we’re already helping off-grid clients transition to high-performance renewable systems built properly and designed to last 💪
📣 The direction is clear: the future is electric, renewable, and efficient
If you’re off-grid — now is the time to start planning so you’re ready when the £9,000 grant opens.
