Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 | Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Retrofit

A clean infotainment upgrade on this Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212, adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while keeping the original Mercedes screen and controls.

This Vauxhall Astra J 2.0 CDTi came in with the engine management light on and P0671 stored for the cylinder 1 glow plug circuit.

Electrical testing, including comparison with a known-good plug, confirmed the faulty PSG.

Unlike a conventional glow plug, a Pressure Sensor Glow Plug also has a built-in cylinder-pressure sensor, giving the engine management system valuable information to help monitor and control combustion.

With the fault confirmed, the faulty PSG was replaced with the correct OE-quality part.

🔧MG ZS | Power Steering Fault & EPS Control Module Replacement

This MG ZS was reported with a complete loss of power steering.

We carried out a full diagnostic inspection and found multiple faults relating to the EPS (Electric Power Steering) system.
One of the key fault descriptions related to the motor drive circuit failing during ECU initialisation, which pointed towards an internal EPS control issue.

Further testing confirmed the fault was within the EPS control unit itself. On this setup, the motor drive circuit is built into the EPS control module, so the reliable solution was a complete replacement of the unit.

To keep repair cost sensible, we sourced a compatible used EPS control module from a suitable donor vehicle. The module was fitted, followed by the required EPS reset and calibration.

Power steering operation was restored, and the fault was resolved.

A good example of why proper diagnostics matter, especially on steering systems, where safety and accuracy are both critical.

🔧Ford EcoSport | Steering Wheel Switch Fault & SCCM Diagnostic Repair

This Ford EcoSport was reported with the left steering wheel switch pack not working.

The initial diagnostic scan showed a fault for the steering wheel left switch pack stored in the SCCM (Steering Column Control Module). At first glance, it looked like a simple switch pack replacement.

But the fault code is only the starting point.

We carried out further testing on the switch pack itself and also checked the clock spring/airbag squib, which can also cause similar steering wheel control faults. Both tested correctly.

Further investigation confirmed the real fault was inside the SCCM itself: a weakened and corroded solder joint on a connector pin within the circuit board.

We repaired the SCCM at board level, restored the connection, and resolved the fault without replacing unnecessary parts.

A good reminder: fault codes don’t always tell the full story.
Proper diagnostics and testing find the real cause.

🔧Vauxhall Astra J 2.0 CDTi | Engine Management Light & Pressure Sensor Glow Plug Replacement

This Vauxhall Astra was reported with the engine management light on.
After carrying out diagnostic checks, we found a fault in the glow plug circuit. Further testing confirmed the issue was with a faulty PSG (Pressure Sensor Glow) plug.

This isn’t just a standard glow plug. A PSG plug is an advanced diesel glow plug with a built-in pressure sensor. It still helps with cold starting, but it also allows the engine ECU to monitor cylinder pressure and control combustion more accurately.

Once the faulty PSG plug was confirmed, it was replaced with an OE-quality part, and the fault was resolved.

A good example of why modern diesel faults need proper diagnostics first: the right testing leads to the right repair.

🔧Citroën C4 Picasso | ABS/ESP Warning Lights & Wiring Harness Repair

This Citroën C4 Picasso was showing several dashboard warnings, including engine management, ABS, ESP and electronic parking brake faults.

The issue appeared after a parking brake service carried out elsewhere, so the fault was initially suspected around that area. However, with these Citroën systems, one ABS/ESP communication fault can trigger several warnings across the vehicle.

During our diagnostic checks, the key clue was that the ABS/ESP control unit had no communication with the diagnostic tool.
This is a known fault pattern on the C4 Picasso, often linked to power supply, earth, wiring or connection issues around the ABS/ESP control module.

On these models, ABS/ESP faults can also commonly be linked to wheel speed sensors, reluctor rings, poor connections, or damaged wiring around the battery/fuse box area.
In this case, further testing confirmed the real fault was a damaged wiring harness near the battery box.

Once the wiring was repaired correctly, communication with the ABS/ESP unit was restored, and the warning lights were resolved.

A good example of why proper diagnostics matter: the dash warning is only the symptom; the real fault needs to be tested and confirmed.
