🔋Exciting announcement! Green Switch Capital, part of Qair UK, has received planning consent for a 342 MW energy storage facility in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

⚡Red Moss Energy Storage Facility will enable the import and export of up 342 MW of electricity to the local grid network - helping to support a smarter, more resilient energy system.

We worked closely with Renewable Planning Consultancy Limited (RPC) on this project, benefitting from their expertise in complex energy infrastructure projects.

Red Moss BESS is part of Qair Group's expanding international portfolio of renewable energy and energy storage projects. We remain committed to advancing our development pipeline to help meet Scotland and UK net-zero targets and bring lasting benefits to local communities.

Exciting news!⚡Green Switch Capital, part of Qair UK, has received planning permission for a 49.9 MW battery energy storage system at Middleton Farm in Aberdeenshire.

The project was approved by Aberdeenshire Council on 1st July, with planning support provided by Locogen.

The approval marks Qair UK’s first consented standalone battery project, adding to over 140 MW of solar capacity successfully consented across the UK in the last 18 months. 🌞

Pete Mclaren, Head of Scottish Development at Qair UK, said:

“This is a landmark moment for Qair UK as we expand into standalone energy storage. Battery storage is critical to unlocking the full potential of renewables in the UK, and we’re proud to contribute to a more resilient and flexible energy system.”

Ofgem has officially approved NESO’s proposed connection reforms – a major milestone that will help accelerate the delivery of renewable energy projects across the country.

These changes are designed to prioritise projects that are ready to go, speed up grid connections, and give developers like Qair the confidence and clarity we need to move forward.

This is a big step towards strengthening the UK’s energy security and building a more resilient, low-carbon future. We’re excited to see the positive impact this will have on our solar, wind, and battery projects – and the wider industry.

🌞 Exciting News from Qair UK!
We are thrilled to announce that Straws Hadley Solar Farm, a 49.9MWp solar project, has received planning approval from Buckinghamshire Council.

This milestone marks our third major solar project approval in 2024, alongside Lark Hill Solar Farm and Washdyke Solar Farm, totalling 140.9MWp of consented solar energy this year.

🌿 Environmental Impact:
Powering approximately 14,000 UK homes annually
Reducing CO2 emissions by around 11,000 tonnes per year - equivalent to planting 470,000 trees
Enhancing local biodiversity with habitat and hedge gains

We thank planning consultants at TEP - The Environment Partnership for their invaluable support throughout the planning process. 🤝

The Project Manager of Straws Hadley shared:
