🛠️ 5 Tips to Get Your Radiators Winter-Ready! ❄️
As the colder months roll in, it’s time to make sure your radiators are running at their best to keep your home warm and cozy. Here are my top five tips to prep your radiators for winter:
1. Bleed Your Radiators – If your radiator isn’t heating up fully, it might have trapped air inside. Bleeding it releases the air and lets hot water flow better, giving you more heat.
2. Check for Cold Spots – Run your hand over the radiator. If there are cold spots, especially at the bottom, it could mean a build-up of sludge. You may need a power flush to improve performance.
3. Inspect for Leaks – Look out for any small leaks or damp patches around pipes and valves. Even small leaks can cause issues in the long run, so get them fixed as soon as possible.
4. Keep Radiators Clear – Make sure there’s no furniture or clutter blocking your radiators. This helps them to heat up your room more efficiently and saves on energy bills.
5. Adjust Thermostatic Radiator Valves – If you have TRVs, adjust them according to room usage. Don’t waste heat in rooms you don’t use as much!
