Next Generation 2.0 Control

The new KC3 PLC control system combines touchscreen operation with manual override controls, giving operators complete control of the mixer.

The simple touchscreen interface allows operators to quickly select mix designs, monitor material usage in real time, and make adjustments directly from the screen, helping ensure consistent batching and efficient operation on site.

✔ Easy calibration and diagnostics

The system also enables secure remote access for KC3 technical staff, allowing diagnostics and support to be carried out quickly if assistance is required, helping minimise downtime.

Importantly, the mixer has been designed so that manual controls can still operate the machine independently, meaning the mixer can continue working even if the PLC system is unavailable.

Designed with operators in mind, combining modern PLC technology with traditional manual controls to deliver both simplicity and reliability in demanding working environments.

Next Generation KC3 Joins the Fleet

Concrete Solutions has taken delivery of a new 2026 KC3 2.0 volumetric concrete mixer, replacing one of their long-serving reliable 2010 Nurock mixers.

The company has operated several Nurock mixers over the years, proving the reliability and longevity of the machines in daily operation.

Mounted on a DAF XF 450, the new KC3 continues that legacy with improved controls, faster hydraulics and enhanced operator functionality.

Concrete Solutions Takes Delivery of New KC3 2.0 Volumetric Concrete Mixer

Accrington-based Concrete Solutions has taken delivery of a brand new KC3 2.0 volumetric concrete mixer, further strengthening its fleet as the business continues to grow.

The mixer has been mounted on a DAF XF 450, supplied by MV Commercial Ltd, with installation completed by Fruehauf in Grantham.

The latest KC3 2.0 model includes several upgrades designed to improve performance and operator control, including:

• New PLC control system with automated and manual modes
• Remote diagnostic access for KC3 technical support
• Faster hydraulic system
• Wireless remote control for improved on-site operation

On the day of delivery the mixer was fully calibrated in the morning, operator training was carried out in the yard, and the truck was ready to begin customer deliveries that same afternoon — exactly as it should be.

Concrete Solutions has operated Nurock mixers since the company was established in 2015, alongside other brands within their fleet.

Army Mixer #3 of 10 refurbished!

KC3 Concrete Equipment Limited has been commissioned to upgrade 10 military mixers to align with the specifications of current KC3 models and ensure they continue to be fully supported. Enhancements include improved hydraulic systems for faster mixing speeds and other refinements based on user feedback. Despite being in service for over 15 years, the fleet remains very reliable—a credit to its robust, simple design and first-class maintenance by the asset owner Amey Defence Equipment Limited.

For military operations, airfields are essential infrastructure, facilitating aircraft take-offs and landings for offensive, defensive, and logistical missions. The rapid repair of airfield damage is, therefore, a priority for armed forces worldwide. The British Army has relied on a fleet of VCMs for ADR since 2010, with the units initially designed and manufactured by Nurock Mixers in Liverpool, UK. These mixers were built to meet specific military requirements, including off-road capability, and were further supported by NATO codification of all parts, the production of Army Equipment Support Publications, and training beyond that provided for commercial off-the-shelf equipment

Mix 2 Match there another 20,000m3 life left 😂 thanks for the business over the years, pleasure to deal with 🙏👍

It’s truly an end of an era today as we have finally sold Big Blue! Off to spend the rest of her days helping a farmer out up north.

We estimate that we provided over 20,000m3 of concrete and screed over the 11 years we have had it.

Big thanks to KC3 for the help over the years keeping it running and for helping get the sale done

🚧 Terex ProAll Volumetric Mixer Repair & Rebuild – Project Complete 🚧

We recently completed a challenging and rewarding rebuild of a Terex ProAll volumetric concrete mixer that had been on its side.

To carry out a full chassis repair, we first demounted the mixer, then dismantled the aluminium sand, stone, and cement hoppers. Using the ProAll rivet system, we fabricated and rebuilt the entire body, restoring it to full working condition.

🔧 As specialists in volumetric mixers, it’s always fascinating to work on other brands and see their design choices up close. Every mixer has its strengths and weaknesses, and this project gave us valuable insights into the ProAll approach.

See the transformation – now fully operational and ready to return to site work.
