Now this is something we can definitely get behind.
Prescot has officially submitted its bid to become UK Town of Culture 2028, and honestly, it feels like a proper moment for the town.
Thereโs the history.
Thereโs the character.
Thereโs Shakespeare North Playhouse.
Thereโs the growing independent scene.
There are the events, the people, the pride, and that very particular Prescot ability to be quietly brilliant while pretending not to make too much fuss.
Very Northern. Very sensible. Very suspiciously cultured.
And of course, thereโs MetalCrafts Ltd.
Weโre not saying that our gates and railings are the deciding factor in a national cultural bidโฆ
But if anyone from the judging panel happens to admire a well-made bit of metalwork while visiting, weโll simply accept that as part of the wider artistic landscape.
All joking aside, itโs brilliant to see Prescot putting itself forward.
Towns like this are built on more than buildings and high streets. Theyโre built on local businesses, heritage, creativity, families, trades, stories, and people who care enough to keep improving the place around them.
Thatโs why weโre genuinely excited to see the bid go in.
Prescot has every reason to be proud.
And whether itโs theatre, history, local shops, community events, or simply making the front of homes and businesses look a bit sharper, it all adds to the character of the place.
So from all of us at MetalCrafts:
Good luck, Prescot - weโre backing you!
And if the Town of Culture judges need a ceremonial gate making, Chris is already clearing space in the diary.
Probably.
