It's fantastic to see the recent progress at our Midfield Primary School project for Bromley Council 🏫

A key milestone has been reached with the successful installation of the steel frame for the new extension, giving a clear view of how the new spaces are coming together.

With the school holidays providing an opportunity to progress key elements of the programme, we're making the most of the summer break to keep the project moving forward ahead of the new school term.

We are pleased to announce we have been appointed to South East Consortium's Repairs & Maintenance Dynamic Market Agreement for Lot 3 – Planned Works.

This lot covers scheduled and cyclical maintenance programmes across residential and commercial buildings, making it ideal for longer-term contracts including external decorations, roofing, kitchens, bathrooms, and other planned improvement works.

We're proud to be part of this framework, which has been designed to provide housing providers and public organisations with faster, flexible access to trusted contractors. By simplifying the procurement process and enabling compliant, efficient delivery at pace, the Dynamic Market will help our clients bring forward high quality planned works that create lasting value for their buildings and the communities they serve.

We're pleased to have successfully passed our recent annual ISO audit by the British Assessment Bureau, retaining our ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 accreditations for another year ⭐

This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to quality, environmental responsibility, and the health, safety and wellbeing of our people, partners and the public.

Social Value Round Up 💙

Over the last three months, we've continued to work alongside schools, charities and community organisations to create opportunities for young people, support grassroots sport and inspire the next generation of construction professionals.

We've been continuing our work with YB Ventures UK, supporting its Level Up programme and Women in DIY event, which helped young people and women gain valuable skills and confidence in construction. We also delivered interview skills sessions, attended a Net Zero careers fair, and welcomed several work experience students across our HSEQ, HR, Design and Site teams from Construction Youth Trust and local schools

We're supporting grassroots sport by sponsoring Lewisham Borough CFC for the 2026/27 season and continuing our support for South Thames Girls FC. These partnerships help create opportunities for young people to develop confidence, teamwork and a sense of belonging through sport.

A huge thank you to our community partners who continue to make these initiatives possible. Together, we're committed to creating a lasting positive impact in the communities where we work.

We are delighted to share that our projects, Sam Manners House, Well Hall Road and Barnfield Hall for Royal Borough of Greenwich have been nominated in the Housing & Residential Project category at the British Construction & Infrastructure Awards 🏆

These developments form part of the borough’s ambitious Greenwich Builds programme, helping to deliver high quality, sustainable and affordable homes for local residents while creating lasting benefits for the community.

Being recognised by the British Construction & Infrastructure Awards is a testament to the hard work, dedication and collaboration of everyone involved in these projects, including our partners British Offsite Ltd, shedkm, Fuse Architects and Blakeney Leigh Ltd.

We're excited to share that we are nearing completion of our project at Bournbrook Road for the Royal Borough of Greenwich 🏡

Since our last update, significant progress has been made across the site, with the final stages of internal and external works coming together and the development taking its finished form.

Part of the Greenwich Builds programme, Bournbrook Road is one of three sites within The Brooks development, which will deliver 80 new zero carbon council homes, helping to provide high quality, affordable housing for local residents.

As we move towards handover, it's rewarding to see the hard work from our teams, partners and stakeholders reflected in a development that will make a lasting difference to the local community.

We look forward to sharing the completed scheme very soon.

We were pleased to welcome two more work experience students to the team last week and give them a glimpse into the wide range of careers available within the construction industry.

Danny from Hurstmere School spent time with both our finance and roofing teams, experiencing two different and important parts of the business. From understanding the numbers behind our projects to seeing how our roofing works take shape on site, it was a great opportunity to explore how different departments are connected.

Nicole joined us through Construction Youth Trust and spent the week at our Orangery Lane new build project with Site Manager, Keith. She gained first hand experience of site management, learning about the planning, coordination and teamwork that go into delivering a successful project.

A big thank you to everyone across the business who took the time to share their knowledge and make Danny and Nicole's placements such a positive experience.

We were pleased to welcome Royal Borough of Greenwich's Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing, Greenwich Builds & Estate Regeneration, Councillor Jackie Smith, to visit our new build development at The Brooks last week.

During the visit, Councillor Smith had the opportunity to see the progress being made on site and meet some of the talented young people currently gaining valuable industry experience with Elkins.

Our work experience students, Candela, Jeras and Killan, along with apprentices Tyler and Jada, spoke about their experiences working with Elkins, their future career aspirations, and their views on the future of the construction industry. The discussion also explored how rapid technological advancements, including AI, are shaping the sector and influencing the career choices of the next generation.

Thank you to Councillor Smith and the team at Greenwich for taking the time to meet with the students, who gained a great deal from the visit and really enjoyed the conversations.
