We sat down with SkootEco’s Head of Operations, Dr Naomi Marden to talk about some of the projects she’s involved in.

Here’s what she had to say…

I’m often asked why humanitarian environmental projects move me so much?

Yesterday, I connected with project leaders in Tanzania and Brazil, and their stories of real, lasting change hit home—not just in carbon reduction but in transforming lives.

These projects mean, and do so much:

🔹 Empowering Communities:
Skills training and new opportunities build resilience, as local people take pride in leading sustainable solutions.

🔹 Improving Health & Quality of Life:
From clean energy to safe water, these initiatives bring essential resources, directly impacting health and quality of life.

🔹 Preserving Nature & Culture:
These projects go beyond restoration, integrating indigenous knowledge to honour cultural heritage while protecting ecosystems.

For me, it’s the ultimate Win-Win - Creating immediate impact and sowing seeds for a sustainable future.

Here’s to purpose-driven projects and a world we can all breathe easier in.
