Egg - Cracking Energy

Egg - Cracking Energy Trusted to power homes and businesses with clean energy for 10+ years ⚡ We do this by putting ourselves in the shoes of the next generation, our kids.

Over 10 years ago, our team of experts began a journey to make it easier for people and businesses to get the most out of our planet’s biggest, most readily available clean power source – the Sun. Since then, we’ve built a reputation for reliability supporting homes and businesses across the UK in all things clean energy with our solar panel, battery storage, and EV charging solutions. Egg is here

to inspire a clearer path to clean energy – helping our customers make better, greener choices when it comes to the way we power the buildings we live and work in, and the way we travel. We want to make decisions that they can be proud of. So, like them, we dream big, imagine better and insist on seeing things simply. Energy can be all too complicated and draining, but at Egg we see the sunny side and a world of possibilities instead. We’re on a mission to crack clean energy. We hope you’ll join us.

Solar panels. Soon to be as standard as bricks and mortar? 🏡

Housebuilders will be legally required to install solar panels on the roofs of new properties by 2027 under the plans. About time.

Labour has set a target of building 1.5m homes by the end of the parliament. The party has promised to decarbonise the electricity grid by 2030 and cut household energy bills by £300 a year.

A small step for planning law, a giant leap for future roofs and energy bills. Let us know your thoughts in the comments. 👇

Windows that earn their keep? Things we love to see. 👀

Scientists have just smashed the efficiency record for transparent solar panels, hitting 11% efficiency while still letting light through.

The future is looking clear and it's powered by the sun. ☀️

THIS IS NO APRIL FOOLS 📣

From today, the UK energy price cap is rising by 6%, meaning the average dual-fuel household could see bills increase by around £9.25 a month.

If you're on a standard variable tariff, this change will hit your wallet. Fixed-price tariff? You’re safe (for now 👀).

💡 What can you do?
✅ Check your tariff: A fixed deal might save you £££.
✅ Submit meter readings: Keep your bills accurate.

The Energy Price Cap now changes every three months (previously it was every six) – mainly based on average energy wholesale prices in the months leading up to each change. The next change will come into affect on the 1 July 2025.

As the clocks go forward this weekend, it got us thinking... Is it time to rethink time? ⏰

What if we told you that simply changing the clocks could help the UK use less energy?

Shifting the clocks forward by an hour all year round means lighter evenings (think: GMT+2 in summer, GMT+1 in winter), which would reduce our reliance on artificial lighting and heating.

Sounds like a bright idea, right? 💡 Swipe to break it down. ➡️
