In Belgravia, one part of this project has meant retaining the historic front facade and suspending it at first-floor level, supported by a temporary steel structure, while the building behind it is demolished and rebuilt from the ground up.

New drainage, reinforced concrete slabs and a structural steel frame have gone in beneath and behind the suspended facade without disturbing it. Above that steel frame, a full timber superstructure has been built using prefabricated timber cassettes and Posi-Joists, with the six houses structurally tied together through the party walls using engineered steel brackets and reinforcement.

Steel, timber, concrete and masonry, all coordinated within a heritage shell that had to stay standing throughout.

In Chelsea, we've taken this property back to its facade and rebuilt almost everything behind it, including underpinning the adjoining walls to extend and deepen the basement without disturbing either neighbour.

The rebuild itself has been just as considered. An internal steel frame went in first, with a timber frame and single brick skin built around it once that structure was in place. Timber joists salvaged from the demolition were reused rather than replaced, alongside reclaimed bricks for the rear brickwork and low carbon cement throughout.

Now moving into joinery installation and second fix carpentry, with finishes underway.

Behind a retained facade in Chelsea, this house has been rebuilt in timber frame, with sustainability at the centre of every decision.

A facade retention scheme with a new basement and mansard extension, reusing reclaimed steelwork and timber throughout. An air source heat pump, solar panels, rainwater harvesting and natural insulation bring the finished home in line with a genuinely low-impact standard, without losing anything of the character the original facade gives it.

The result will be a family home built to last.

Where construction meets design.

The staircase was one of the most complex parts of this build, sweeping from basement to second floor and coordinated around a rear roofscape dormer that shaped the design at every stage. Seeing it finished, with light pouring through the stairwell, makes every bit of that coordination worth it.

Every skilled trade playing their part to bring this staircase to life. A true showcase of craftsmanship, precision and attention to detail.

A glimpse into a day's work on one of our sites.

Today: a laser level sets the datum line, rotten joists come out, new sections are spliced in with toothed connectors and bolted through, then packed and levelled until everything sits true.

A successful day of progress.

A garage stood on this site in Belgravia for over 100 years. In its place, we're building six new houses and a small office block, in a project that leans further into timber frame construction than almost anything else in our portfolio.

Five three-bedroom homes, one two-bedroom home and an office across two floors, all set within a working mews surrounded by houses that have stood for decades. Timber frame was chosen for its sustainability credentials and because it lets traditional building methods be applied in a more considered, modern way.

The brief was specific: this couldn't read as a new insertion into an old street. Everything from the massing to the materials has been worked through with that in mind, so that in a few years, no one looking at the mews would be able to pick out which houses are new.

We'll be sharing more as the build progresses, from timber frame through to finished interiors.

Introducing our latest project in the heart of Chelsea.

Behind the retained original façade, this home has been almost entirely rebuilt using a timber frame construction, with a new basement and mansard extension creating a sustainable family home.

A new Belgravia project is underway.

Five three-bedroom homes, one two-bedroom home, and a small office block across two floors, built almost entirely in timber frame. It's a method we don't get to use at this scale often, and one that's central to how sustainably this project has been designed.

The site sits within a working mews, surrounded by houses with decades of history of their own. The brief: build new, but build so it feels like it's always been here.

We'll be following the build from timber frame to finished home.
