Why shouldn't you eat too much sugar? We need sugar in order to function normally. But when we consume too much sugar, the body cannot process all the sugar into energy and starts to accumulate it in muscles, liver and fatty tissues until these reserves need to be used up. The daily intake of sugar recommended by the World Health Organization is 50 g. Moreover, nutritionists insist that women should stick to the norm of 6 teaspoons, while men should stick to 9 teaspoons because of the difference in metabolism.
