This fascinating article from The Standard looks at how London may need to adapt to increasingly extreme summer temperatures, from more trees and shaded streets to reflective roofs, better ventilation and homes designed to keep heat out.

But there’s an important challenge: what about the homes London already has?

The article highlights that around one million existing London homes are thought to be at high risk of overheating, with modern apartments particularly vulnerable where large areas of glazing, limited ventilation and sealed façades allow heat to build up inside.
