What makes Paddington Overstation such a complex project? 🚈

Located alongside one of London’s busiest transport interchanges, this new mixed-use development is being delivered within a constrained urban environment, surrounded by live transport infrastructure, waterways and high pedestrian footfall.

Working alongside Wentworth, Keltbray is delivering the complex substructure package, including station interface works, basement formation and core construction.

Last week, we came together for our Keltbray Family Fest to celebrate the people who have been part of our journey over the last 50 years and to thank the families who have supported them along the way.

It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces throughout the day. From children climbing into construction trucks and trying out the driver's seat, to colleagues catching up over great food, drinks and garden games, there was a real sense of fun and togetherness.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a memorable part of our 50th anniversary celebrations.

And who knows... amongst all the future engineers, project managers and truck enthusiasts enjoying the day, we may even have met a few of Keltbray's future employees.

Here's to the next 50 years. 💙

How do you build a massive skyscraper in one of London’s most high-profile locations? 🏗️

Western Yards is a project notable for its scale and central location, adjacent to Blackfriars railway station.

Keltbray delivered the concrete frame, steel elements, slabs and perimeter columns, while managing the logistical complexities of a busy central London site. A standout innovation on the project was the M-Tech Rig, a hybrid technology that combines jump core and slipform systems.

A few weeks ago, members of our 2025 Graduate Cohort joined The Conservation Volunteers for a community day in Belsize Park. 🌱

They helped maintain habitats, clear pathways and improve spaces for local wildlife, making a positive contribution to a valued green area.

Volunteering days are an important part of our Graduate Programme, offering the chance to support local communities and environmental initiatives.

A huge thank you to The Conservation Volunteers and to everyone who took part.

Projects with a top‑down nature bring different types of challenges, and at 60 Gracechurch Street this is especially evident in the basement construction.

As part of this sequence, Keltbray is casting a section of the ground floor slab very early to act as the logistics slab, meaning the three‑storey basement is then built beneath it with a ceiling overhead.
