Rochester King’s School – Science Wing Refurb Underway 🔧

We’ve officially kicked off the refurbishment of the science wing at Rochester King’s School, taking the lead on the mechanical side of the project.

Last week, we spent time on site isolating, draining, and cutting back existing services, reviewing drawings, and re-routing pipework to keep key systems operational during the works.

As is often the case, the original scope has shifted significantly — largely due to the age and condition of the existing heating system. We’ve now developed a revised plan involving new flow and return pipework run from the plant room into the required zones for Phases 1 and 2, picking up some new radiators along the way.

The PlumbX team have been working hard in Cambridge on a new build site 🏠 💧

We’ve been installing Vaillant heat pumps feeding Vaillant cylinders on some pre-fabricated houses 🛠️

Believe it or not but we managed to install, test and fill up 31 plots in 3 & 1/2 weeks! 🤩

Client is over the moon & offered us an additional 20 plots because of the outstanding work the boys have done! ✅

Today the team were at the transport for London offices, where we had to use liquid nitrogen to freeze the existing pipe work, allowing us to reroute the incoming flow and return in order for the rip out to begin.

All work tested and back online with no services interrupted 😎🔧👨‍🔧

We’ve been busy this week with another call out to Hyatt Regency hotel, where the pipework is corroding and causing pin holes.

We temporarily fixed the issue on the same day.

We returned the next day with all materials needed to replace the corroding pipework and get the rooms back online for the hotel 👌

Plumbx team to the rescue!!

We had a call out to westfields Hyatt place hotel in Stratford where one of the bellows was actively leaking 💦🔧

We got our suppliers to deliver a new set bellows to site & we changed both bellows. Even though only one was leaking we changed both to be proactive & stop it from happening in the future.

All tested, trend system reset & back online 😎

We have now secured 5 contracts that require water testing and tank cleaning on a regular basis ✅

Did you know, it’s not only commercial properties that need work on their tanks, a lot of domestic properties also have tanks that should be inspected once a year. 💧 🥼 🧪

When was the last time you checked your tanks for water hygiene? Drinking or washing in dirty contaminated water can cause a variety of health issues 🤮 ❌

The control panel had a fault indicating low outlet pressure and no wonder why 😂

New belt installed, luckily there was 2 spare on site for us to use. 🍀

We’ve ordered another 2 to ensure the site stores are replenished ✅

One of the team recently installed a new shower pump system in Folkestone 🚿 💦

We had to adapt the hot water cylinder and pipework to get the shower installed correctly ✅

We also insulated the hot and cold pipework in the loft to keep the heat loss to a minimum 🫡
