The latest International Energy Agency (IEA) report highlights a critical trend: the exponential increase in electricity consumption by data centres, projected to double in the next five years.

This rise is inextricably linked to the compute-intensive nature of modern AI models. As we push the boundaries of AI, we must also prioritise research and development in energy-efficient hardware and software solutions. This includes advancements in cooling systems, power management, and algorithmic optimisation.
