Last night, our managing director, Simon Ruck attended the final of the NatWest x EnSpire Oxford Accelerator Pitch competition, held at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

After launching in 2025 to support high-potential founders, the competition is a UK-wide initiative offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to compete for significant funding to help their business grow.

Five finalists pitched to an expert judging panel of investors, senior bank executives, and industry leaders. The overall winner received £70,000, while second and third place secure £20,000 and £10,000 respectively to help scale their businesses.

Prof. Constantin Coussios OBE FREng FMedSci, Oxford Pro-Vice Chancellor for Innovation and founder of OrganOx and previous Pitch winner Jas Schembri-Stothart (Yacoubian), co-founder of luna, shared their insights and journey on entrepreneurship.

A great evening connecting with founders across our county and beyond 🤝

Ox in a Box food awards nominees 2026 🎉

We are so pleased to share that Taylors Oxford North has been nominated in the ‘Best Newcomer category’, by the Ox in a Box food awards.

The awards are an annual celebration, hosted at The North Wall Arts Centre - recognising the best of Oxfordshire’s hospitality industry, celebrating local restaurants, pubs, cafes, and chefs.

We opened the door to Taylors Oxford North three months ago - our 80 seater café offers sandwiches, salads, freshly made pasta, delicacies and specialty coffees. With fabulous views across Fallaize Park and Olafur Eliasson’s ‘Your planetary assembly’.

It has been wonderful to see the café being used by our local community and visitors!

That's a wrap on the first Ox Tech Week, ever!

We were so thrilled and proud to have been premier sponsors of the first-of-its-kind Ox Tech Week, from the Founders & Funders foundation.

The flagship festival highlighted Oxford's thriving technology and innovation ecosystem. 4 days of founders, researchers, investors and industry leaders celebrating the current cluster but also strengthening future opportunities.

With 75 events across the week and 3,500 attendees that joined over the week, there was incredible energy and enthusiasm across our city. All with the same drive in helping to position Oxford as a global hub for venture creation and scaling innovation - it was truly inspiring!

Our team enjoyed the talks, panel discussions, and engaging with attendees at our stand at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. It was fantastic to see so many people from across the innovation communities, coming together to celebrate Oxford’s diverse ecosystem.

On Thursday, we hosted Drone football - a team-based e-sport where players fly protective spherical drones inside a netted arena to score goals, combining competition with hands-on STEM. Followed by Tour de Tech, the monthly cycling and networking group around the Oxford cluster ⚽🚲

Congratulations to Christiaan de Koning, PhD, Michael Collyer and their whole team in organising such a successful inaugural event 👏

Pint of Science 2026 🍺

We were proud to sponsor Pint of Science UK once again, the three-day global festival of public science talks - as the exclusive sponsor of the Oxford edition.

This year’s programme featured three fascinating themes - Our Body, Beautiful Mind, and Tech Me Out - hosted across pubs throughout the city. It was wonderful to see such strong turnout at each venue and to hear researchers passionately share their discoveries.

Our team thoroughly enjoyed meeting the attendees and listening to the presentations: Simon Ruck, Dr Elodie Siney, Rory MacGregor, Harry Blanshard MRICS, Rob Beatson and Lola Holland.

Thank you to the Pint of Science team for helping put together the 14th edition of the festival: Gintare Smagurauskaite, Lucy G., Susanna Cooper, Praveen Paul, Claudio Cortez Rodriguez, Naveed Akbar, Dr. Lisa Leinhos and the brilliant venues of The Oxford Blue, James St Tavern and St Aldates Tavern for facilitating each event.

A fantastic week of bringing science and technology to all 🤝

We have reached another exciting milestone at Oxford North with the launch of our fully fitted labs, offering space from 1,000 sq ft to 58,000 sq ft lab-enabled buildings.

Designed by scientists for scientists, each lab comes with on-site technical support, shared bookable equipment and flexible workspace, so companies can focus on their research rather than their fit-out.

This is what Oxford North is here to do: support businesses at every stage of their journey, from spinouts taking their first steps to global companies scaling at pace.

What happens when artists, young people and nature come together?

Foraging Connections – now open at Modern Art Oxford – is a powerful example of creativity rooted in place 🌿

Supported by Oxford North’s Engage programme, the exhibition brings together local artists, young people and partners including Modern Art Oxford, IF Oxford the Science and Ideas Festival and Heard and Seen, with workshops in nearby Woods.

Victoria Collett of Thomas White Oxford, said: “This has been a joy to be part of from start to finish. Seeing artists, young people and partners come together - both in Wytham Woods and in the gallery - perfectly captures what Oxford North’s Engage programme is all about. It’s about creating genuine connections, opening up opportunities, and celebrating the creativity and talent within our local community.”

Open now until 14 June 2026, the exhibition is free to visit, no booking required.

With huge thanks to everyone involved, including Victoria Collett, Thomas White Oxford, St John's College, Oxford, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, Stanhope PLC, Contemporary Art Society, Jordan Kaplan, Dane Comerford, Holly Broughton, Tom Storey and Gemma.
