Bank Holiday Emergency Call-Out

We were called out over the Bank Holiday to assist an elderly customer after an upstairs toilet had been continuously overflowing for nearly 2 days.

The issue was caused by a failed toilet syphon, combined with a blocked toilet, which resulted in constant overflowing and unfortunately significant water damage to the ceiling downstairs.

Once on site we:

🔧 Located and stopped the overflow
🔧 Cleared the blockage
🔧 Made the toilet safe and operational
🔧 Investigated the extent of the water damage caused

This is a reminder that even a small toilet fault can quickly turn into a major issue if left unattended - especially when water is continuously running unnoticed behind floors and ceilings.

Emergency Call-Out - Hidden Leak Behind Kitchen Units

We were called out after the customer reported a hissing noise coming from behind the kitchen wall - always something worth investigating.

Once isolated and the back of the kitchen units removed, the issue quickly became clear 👇

The plaster had blown and fallen away

A copper pipe behind the wall had developed multiple pinhole leaks

The pipe was part of the water feed supplying the property

Water was escaping under pressure, which caused the hissing noise - and if left, this would have led to serious damage.

What causes this?

Corrosion over time (often from flux residue or environmental conditions) can eat into copper pipework and eventually create pinhole leaks like this.

✅ Fault located and isolated
✅ Damaged section removed
✅ New pipework installed and made safe

If you ever notice:

• Damp patches or smells
• Drops in water pressure
