2025 Year in Review at Universal Gas Solutions

It has been a huge year for Universal Gas Solutions and we’re incredibly proud of what our team has achieved.

· This year we moved into new premises to support our growing workforce

· Won industry awards for quality and customer care

· Invested heavily in training with hundreds of in-person sessions and thousands of online courses

· Made IOSH a minimum standard for management

· We celebrated two apprentices completing their training

· Continued delivering 24/7 gas incident support

· Carried out commercial boiler breakdowns and installations nationwide

· We strengthened supplier partnerships

· Raised thousands of pounds for charities close to our hearts and supported community events

· Brought our people together through team-building days and industry conferences

A huge thank you to our office teams, managers, engineers, suppliers and customers – none of this would be possible without you 🙏

Looking ahead to 2026

We’re preparing for further growth, new services, smarter systems and even more investment in our people and communities.

🌍 Fuel Poverty Awareness Day 2025
Today shines a light on an issue that sadly continues to affect millions of households across the UK: fuel poverty.

Behind the statistics are real people—families choosing between heating and eating, older residents living in cold homes, and vulnerable customers struggling to stay safe and warm.

We see the impact first-hand. Through our work with gas networks and housing providers, we regularly support households who cannot afford essential repairs or replacements. That’s why our engineers don’t just fix boilers and appliances—we also:
✔️ Carry out care calls to check on residents’ wellbeing.
✔️ Provide energy efficiency advice to help lower bills.
✔️ Install carbon monoxide alarms and make homes safer.
✔️ Work with partners to ensure help reaches those most in need.
Tackling fuel poverty requires collaboration across the housing, charity, and utility sectors. Together, we can make sure no one is left in a cold, unsafe home.

We’re proud of all our team’s dedication to keeping homes safe. This Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week, we want to shine a light on one of our amazing engineers, Agron, who recently attended a emergency call-out to support a vulnerable customer due to a customers CO alarm being activated .

The customer said:

"Agron was terrific when he came round and carried out the works, he was such a polite and patient man and I would 100% have him come round to help me again. I would recommend him to anyone, he was really good and managed to get it all done in time for me to get my vaccination, thank you so much for helping me."

Agron’s professionalism, care, and attention to detail highlight why having trained, trustworthy engineers is so important – especially when it comes to gas safety and carbon monoxide awareness.

Precision Window Cutting on 6” Ductile Gas Main

Ductile iron and steel mains demand absolute precision — there’s no margin for error.

Our engineers used the Rapid Window Cutter to expose over 2 metres of live 125mm PE inserted within a 6” ductile main, preparing for a double squeeze-off operation supplying a high-rise block.

Working on a busy London road, the team delivered with skill, focus, and patience — showcasing the expertise and professionalism that define Universal Gas Solutions.

💛 Supporting OPALS in Hitchin 💛

We’re passionate about supporting our communities, whether that’s through our day-to-day work or by taking part in local initiatives like supporting Older Persons Activity Learning and Safety in Hitchin, spending the day giving gas safety advice and talking about the importance of always using reputable companies and a Gas Safe registered engineer.

It was fantastic to connect with local residents, answer their questions, and share simple ways to stay safe and energy-efficient at home. A huge thank you to OPALS for having us and for the incredible work they do supporting older people in the area.

On Friday, our team came together to support Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink Day, led by our very own Bridie, who organised a brilliant day of fundraising, fun and pink socks and outfits across Universal! 💗

A huge well done to Bridie for driving this initiative, and thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’re proud to share that we raised an incredible £1,525 for this amazing cause. 👏

We love getting behind the causes that matter to our team. Supporting charitable events like this isn’t just about raising money, it’s about showing up for our colleagues, our community, and the people whose lives are touched by these causes every day.
