THURSDAY'S EPC TIP OF THE DAY 🏡
Thinking of Selling or Renting Your Property?
To achieve the best possible Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating, it's essential to keep evidence of any energy efficiency improvements carried out on your home. Without proof, an assessor may not be able to include certain upgrades in the EPC calculation.
âś… TIP #1: INTERNAL WALL INSULATION (Solid or Cavity Walls)
If you've had internal wall insulation installed, always keep:
đź“„ Receipts or invoices for the insulation materials used
đź“„ Installation certificates (if available)
đź“„ Product specification sheets showing insulation type and thickness
📸 Photographs taken before, during and after installation
For cavity wall insulation, make sure you ask for:
âś… Copies of invoices and receipts
âś… Details of the insulation material used
âś… Product specifications and installation certificates
âś… Evidence showing the cavity walls were insulated
The more detailed the evidence, the more likely the improvement can be fully recognised during an EPC assessment, potentially improving your property's rating.
Remember: A quality installation is important, but having the paperwork to prove it is just as valuable when it comes to your EPC.
🔹 Keep it. File it. Benefit from it.
