***SKILLED JOB OPPORTUNITIES AND APPRENTICESHIPS***

Due to increased workload and investing in our future we are now looking to recruit for the following positions with immediate starts available:

2x Experienced general builders
1x Experienced 360 excavator operator/ groundworker
1x Plant operator apprentice
1x General builder apprentice - position filled

These exciting roles provide lots of varied work meaning that no two days are the same and there is always a new challenge working across our various sites. A look through our page and website will give you a good view of the kind of work we undertake.

Experienced general builder:

The role would suit someone with 5+ years of experience in the construction industry with good knowledge of their trade and working to a high standard to work on our residential and commercial work. Either someone who could jump straight in and lead a team on site or someone who has some experience but is looking to develop their skills further. The correct attitude to work, a willingness to learn and a can do mindest are the most important attributes we look for in a candidate.

Experienced 360 excavator operator/ groundworker:

We cover a wide range of jobs including civils, drainage, street works, landscaping and everything in between. Not all of your time will be spent in an excavator so you must be willing to get stuck in with all of the other parts of the job as required.

Plant operator apprentice:

You must be over 18 with a full UK driving license and enthusiastic looking to take your first steps into the construction industry with a view to becoming a skilled plant operator working alongside and learning from experienced team members. General builder apprentice:

Perfect for school leavers 16+ who want to take their first steps into construction and learn a hands on trade. You will be enrolled in a CITB apprenticeship whilst learning alongside our skilled team members as you assist them and develop your skills working across our broad range of sites learning whilst you earn.

These are full time employed PAYE positions, self employed and agencies need not apply.

Based out of our Malmesbury headquarters and working within the surrounding area.

We offer competitive rates of pay commensurate with ability/experience.

Our working hours are Monday-Friday 7-4:30 with 9hrs paid per day. Overtime paid at 1.5x pay after 39 hours.

28 days paid holiday including bank holidays.

Another great barn transformation. This time an old Dutch barn that was once part of a farm yard and now lovingly restored into garages and storage on this private development where we also carried out groundwork’s for 3 new homes.

We set about removing the old cladding and roofing, shotblasted and painted the frame along with the installation of additional steelwork to suit its new purpose. We then cut new levels and laid power floated concrete floors and then reclad in anthracite grey. New roller shutter doors and internal partitions added the finishing touches.

From a crumbling down old stone barn to the house of their dreams.

We had the pleasure of turning our clients life long dreams into reality as we sympathetically restored, rebuilt and extended this barn in the Cotswolds.

The old roof was removed and oak was used extensively installing new oak trusses and perlins along with a glazed oak frame frontage. Our in house joinery shop also made a beautiful glazed oak staircase and doors in keeping with the rest of the build.

Underfloor heating and extensive insulation ensure this home will be warm, cosy and energy efficient for years to come.

We love a challenge!!

We were tasked with building over the top of two existing Dutch barns as well as creating a new building to provide more warehouse capacity for our client.

The project included dealing with many changing levels and joining onto existing buildings all whilst maintaining access to a busy industrial site but we took it all in our stride and we think the results speak for themselves.

We were also tasked with digging out a hillside and creating additional parking space for the site at a more manageable gradient. If you look closely you can also see another unit that we previously built for the client!

As always we worked closely with J Wareing & Son - Wrea Green Ltd to design and fabricate the steelwork to ensure a perfect fit first time around.

Class 1 (C+E) HGV driver/yard operative

Peter Baldwin Construction Ltd is a family run construction company based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire established in 1987. Due to continued growth we are looking to employ a Class 1 (C+E) driver/ yard operative to join our team. In this role you will look to carry out all of our companies in house haulage needs utilising our 32t hookloader and 7.5t tipper with plant trailer. When not busy driving you will be responsible for keeping the yard in a tidy and organised state and helping out where needed.

Experience of transporting plant and machinery is essential as is the ability to load and unload your lorry utilising our forklifts and telehandlers. The successful applicant will report to the transport manager, aspects of the job role are listed below.

Duties:

Loading and unloading various plant machinery, construction supplies and skips.
Ensuring all goods are secured safely and delivered efficiently.
Complete daily vehicle checks and carrying out minor maintenance.
Comply with HGV driving rules and regulations.
Ensuring the vehicles are kept in a good condition.
Ensuring all materials are put back in the correct places and maintaining a tidy organised yard.
Requirements

You must hold an HGV class 1 (C+E) licence and an in date drivers CPC card.
You must have a valid in date digital drivers card (tacho card)
Experienced in safely transporting and delivering plant machinery.
A demonstrable understanding of HGV vehicle safety and upkeep.
Be able to load and unload your vehicle either by hand or utilising one of our forklifts or telehandlers (experience preferred but full training can be given).

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 7:00-16:30 with 9hrs paid per day. Overtime paid after 39 hours at 1.5X pay.

No nights out or weekend work required.

Our 4th and final installation from the Project Ash Collective.

As part of the larger development we were tasked with transforming this dated house and bringing it up to modern day standards.

An extension was added and the interior completely stripped back to add damp proofing and insulation ensuring this would become an efficient warm home for its new occupants. The roof was completely replaced, the garden extended and landscaped and we think it’s now looking rather lovely ☺️
