So like body work and paint. Plating is the same. Its all in the preparation. Here you can see the difference in final finish.
One being our usual finish for the more factory OEM look. The other a shiny finish for that more polished look.
Yes there as still imperfections. Next level would be tumble polished prior to plating.

Just a snippet of what's been through the workshop lately. Plus what I remembered to take pictures of 🤦!
Seems to have been a week of gear cleaning. Removing surface rust for a proper inspection of condition.
Did a whole box of mini gears too.

Few bits back from the platers. Top quality service as always.

Then a little modification on a inlet plenum. Shaving down the trumpet plate to get that all important under bonnet clearance. Then all blasted for that fresh look.

Well its been a flat out week!Nice little header tank thats been for a spruce up after modifications.Some BBS split rims...

Well its been a flat out week!
Nice little header tank thats been for a spruce up after modifications.

Some BBS split rims in for a freshen up after being neglected. After trying different finishes the customer has settled on this for more OEM finish 👌 going to look trick once given a clear ceramic coating.

Last but not least the mammoth task of cleaning up 397 brass fittings after manufacture.

Now to call in a favour and get programming sorted.
Just addition of solenoid valves to add to the cabinet along with multi nozzle head attachment.

Despite the heat and turning the machines off after midday for past two days. Still managed to run another 25kgs of nuts and bolts plus a load of bracketry for pur regular customer Malvern Electroplating.

So the need for a newer version of the bolt tumbler has kept me busy of late!
With the growing demand for cleaning service of nuts and bolt before plating. Has taken its toll on the prototype! With drive system needing repairs to the drum finally wore through! Temporary repairs carried out while I build version 2.0.
If only it was automatic 🤔. Thats still working progress but hopefully be up and running sooner rather than later.

Not posted much of late.
Though had to give one of my machines some tlc. Given I built it as a prototype three years ago. My tumble drum for the blaster has taken a beating of late.
May alone it has cleaned in excess of 50kgs of nuts and bolts! Plus hubs and brackets. Processing more than my body weight 🤦.
