We’re proud to share that Heartlands has successfully completed an extensive repair and refurbishment project on the main entrance gates of a truly historic property in Ware, Hertfordshire—once owned by the controversial monarch, King Henry VIII 👑

The gates had suffered significant damage, including impact to the archway, gate post, and intricate decorative features. From the outset, our approach was meticulous, no corners cut. Due to the scale (reaching up to 6.5 metres at the highest point), the gates were fully removed from site using crane and scaffolding to allow for a comprehensive restoration.

Working closely with our local foundry, we replicated original cast elements and dedicated many hours in our workshop to restoring all damaged areas with precision and care. The full structure then underwent shot blasting to strip back years of paint, followed by zinc phosphate priming and a professional repaint across the archway, gates, posts, and ornate panels.

To complete the transformation, we applied metallic gilded gold detailing, bringing the gates back to their original grandeur and high-end finish.

A high-standard project delivered with efficiency and craftsmanship, another job we’re incredibly proud of 😊

After four fantastic days at the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show at the National Exhibition Centre, it’s time to reset, unload, and reflect.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to visit the Heartlands stand — it was a very successful show for us, with some excellent conversations and exciting projects ahead.
