Out on the water: TRG’s grouting team have sealed several leaks along the Grand Union canal and prevented further flooding of residential properties. Several leak paths were identified using thermal probing and visual inspections at both ends of the leaks. Once we’d marked out where these were, we could then inject PU grout with lances to seal the complete path. The PU grout expands into all voids along its path, sealing as it goes. This method has minimal impact but maximum effect.

Do you know your roles and responsibilities when lifting? How about when lifting from crane boats? Trg and crt hosted a joint lifting operations workshop day at Mancetter wharf with lead by Ian Grice. The day involved hands on learning in small groups as well as classroom workshops, sharing lessons learnt and upskiling crt team members on how to set up the crane boats and safely carry out lifting operations. “A spot on day with excellent hands on experience” was the feedback from one of the team members. Thank you to all for their help on making the day a success.

Out on the water: Our skilled contracting team have installed over 1300m of coir rolls and brushwood as part of water vole mitigation along the Cambridge Arm of the Gloucester and Sheerness canal. The coir rolls are pre planted with a native mix of wetland plants to facilitate faster habitat creation for future vole relocation. There was limited access on site so materials were brought in piecemeal with smaller plant when needed, to support the 8t digger installing the posts, brushwood and coir rolls.

Every now and then, a project gives us the opportunity to do things a little differently.

This one-off build saw us return to a traditional boatbuilding technique, bringing the cabin together one rivet at a time. A rare glimpse into the craftsmanship and skills that have shaped boatbuilding for generations, combined with the design and engineering that goes into every Rothen Group boat.

Featuring Our Fleet!

We’re excited to welcome four new conver w**d boats to our growing fleet!

To make sure our operatives are fully equipped and confident, we recently held a dedicated training day. The session provided an opportunity for the team to familiarise themselves with the boats, practise key operations and get hands-on experience with the equipment.

Investing in new equipment is an important part of continuing to improve the way we work, helping our teams deliver efficient, effective and professional conservation services across the waterways.

A great day of training, teamwork and getting to know the newest additions to our fleet!
