Archway Roadmaster UK Ltd. (ARUK) operates a growing fleet of Roadmaster equipment and has a base in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. The primary service is the provision of road maintenance and repair services to local authorities nationwide. The overall objective is to establish ARUK as the leading provider of SIP & associated services throughout the country. Adopting a collaborative approach with our employees, customers, and other stakeholders we deliver our services in a safe, sustainable, and efficient manner.
Our customers are located throughout England, Scotland, and Wales so our staff must have the flexibility to work away from home for up to two weeks at a time on an ongoing basis. We have a good team of people and are always looking for team players to join our company.
The Roadmaster™ Patcher Machine is a self-contained unit carrying bitumen emulsion and aggregate (stone chips). The Operator/ Driver, working from the cab of the truck, controls the delivery of a mix of bitumen emulsion and stone chips to the repair area. This delivers a speedy and long-lasting repair to the damaged area.
Role Description
This position consists of operating the Roadmaster™ Patcher Machine to carry out road maintenance and surface patching on client sites. This requires the ability to carry out vehicle checks, submit your hours and complete reports on your work using a tablet or smart phone, so good IT skills are necessary.
The nature of the work requires the operator/driver to have a high level of self-motivation and be able to work alone and also as a part of a team. This work will require you to stay away overnight for periods of up to two weeks at a time.
The Roadmaster® Operator / Driver will be required to be presentable at all times and have an ability to interact well with members of the public, work colleagues and customers. All operators must pass a Safety Critical Medical and random drug & alcohol testing may be carried out during your employment by the Company or by our customers.
Requirements
• A full clean Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence is required
• Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) & Digital
Tachograph Card is required
• A minimum of 2 years’ driving experience is required
• Telehandler Ticket - A17C Telescopic Handler required - All
sizes exc. 360 Slew.
• LANTRA T1/Module 1 desired or training may be provided
• Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Roadbuilding would be advantageous
• Experience using plant/ construction machinery is required.
• A background in excavator use would be an advantage.
• Possession of a keen eye for level surfaces and irregularities
would be helpful
• Previous experience in the use of road repair materials,
highway maintenance and Local Authority procedures would
be an advantage
• Mechanical ability would be an advantage to facilitate minor
servicing tasks and repairs on the machine
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written is required
• Must be able to use a tablet and a smart phone, and email as
work is reported using various apps’ etc.

independently
• Have initiative and demonstrate a flexible “can-do” approach
to work
• Must be able to follow directions and abide by all Health &
Safety regulations
• Must be eligible to live & work in the UK
