If you rent your home out it's the law and your responsible for the gas safety of the tenants. If you don't then I suppose the ball is in your court and the decision on having your gas checked and appliances serviced is down to you. Checking chimneys, safety devices on boilers, co2 emissions and combustion analysis are all part of my gas checks
it will keep your mind at ease, help with home insurance and create a healthier home environment.
