Recently, McBride delivered a comprehensive Category Management training programme to our international marketing community across the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Designed to upskill colleagues with varying levels of experience, the three-month programme brought our marketers together through a series of interactive online workshops, supported by playbooks, recordings and bite-sized videos to support their ongoing learning.

Focused on three core modules, the programme equipped our colleagues with all the training they need to build stronger (and more effective) customer relationships, and ultimately unlock growth across all McBride's categories.

From establishing a shared understanding of our Category Management framework, to moving beyond “what the data says” to “what the data means”, and learning how to tell evidence-based stories that really resonate with internal stakeholders and retail partners, each of the three modules developed critical capabilities.

And we’re already seeing the impact. Our teams are more aligned and more confident as they put their new skills into action across all our markets.

A huge thank you to our trainer partners, NIQ and TRKR, and to all our McBride colleagues who embraced this journey!

We have a very special announcement to share.

One of our colleagues has celebrated 50 years of working at our Holstebro site in Denmark.

Mixing operator Carsten Hansen was awarded the King's Medal to mark 50 years of continuous employment with the same company, which we presented to him ahead of a celebratory lunch with his family.

What a fantastic achievement! Join us in congratulating Carsten on his truly impressive tenure in the comments below.

Last week, more than 400 of our Polish colleagues pressed pause on production and came together to mark Poland Safety Day – an entire day dedicated to health, safety and wellbeing at McBride.

A first in our company’s history, Poland Safety Day was a chance for all of our colleagues in Strzelce to participate in a packed-out programme of expert-led sessions and workshops – each one carefully designed to encourage learning and discussion.

The day began with a welcome video from our leadership team, delivered in both Polish and Ukrainian. Participants were then split into groups and assigned a rotating schedule of both practical and theoretical activities, bringing together colleagues from across the site regardless of their role or department.

The programme covered a huge range of topics, from Lock Out Tag Out procedures and forklift truck safety to sleep, stress resilience and energy management. Practical stations included CPR training, emergency response simulations, PPE demonstrations, root cause analysis exercises and even personal health and wellbeing assessments.

What stood out most was the enthusiasm shown by everyone who took part. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with our colleagues highlighting the quality of the workshops and the opportunity to learn in such a dynamic, hands-on and collaborative environment.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise and deliver the event, and to all our colleagues in Strzelce for embracing the day with so much energy. Safety is something that affects us all, and Poland Safety Day is a brilliant example of our colleagues coming together to make it a priority to ensure everyone returns home healthy and safe every day.

At McBride, our commercial teams do it all — from analysing markets to planning demand, managing products to building lasting customer relationships. That’s why, to support them, we've launched a dedicated Commercial Learning Academy for our hundred or so colleagues across our front office, middle office and marketing teams.

The Academy ensures every single role has a clearly defined job description and competency framework, providing all our colleagues with clarity on expectations and a personal roadmap for their career progression. Learning is delivered through a blend of self-paced content, McBride-specific courses and live virtual sessions covering key commercial skills — from financial management and interpreting market data to product knowledge. And of course, the training is available in multiple languages, ensuring our colleagues across McBride's many regions have equal access.

Sitting within McBride's broader Learning Academy, which houses over 1,000 development resources, the Commercial Learning Academy reinforces McBride's commitment to inclusion and fairness, and really empowers every colleague to take ownership of their own growth and development.

And the Academy’s success is already visible. Since its launch, 55 of our commercial colleagues have already completed value-based selling training — a very exciting reflection of our company-wide commitment to this kind of practical learning. Well done, everyone!

It’s time for another day in the life of one of our newest McBride colleagues! This time, it’s Jakob Pedersen – a passionate rower and golfer, and Plant Manager of our Hammel site.

“I was really keen to join McBride because I love the fast pace of competing in the FMCG world, where decisions quickly turn into action, and there’s a great balance between operations and strategy.

“A typical day for me involves the general management of our team in Hammel – I’m committed to improving safety, quality, delivery and cost. I’m very focused on making sure we have a good internal culture, and that everyone has plenty of opportunities for personal development. And of course, I’m always working to make sure our customers’ orders leave the factory on time.”

Join us in the comments to welcome Jakob to the McBride team.

At McBride’s Bagnatica site in northern Italy, our colleagues have been busy expanding our internal bottle production – and strengthening efficiency across the entire site’s operations in the process.

While Bagnatica has always produced some of its own bottles, over the past two years the site has increased its internal capacity – bringing more and more production in-house (rather than relying on external suppliers). This included revamping its existing blow-moulding equipment and even installing a new PET blow-moulding machine in 2024 – the latter capable of producing an impressive 15 million bottles per year!

Producing plastic bottles in the same place where they are filled and packed helps us to streamline our supply chain, reducing the need for transport from external manufacturers and aligning bottle production more closely with demand, which improves Bagnatica’s operational efficiency and its environmental impact at the same time.

It is helping us to be more sustainable in other ways, too. The bottles we produce on site use largely recyclable plastic, and our colleagues constantly monitor and improve the balance between recycled and virgin materials as part of our wider environmental focus.

The expansion has allowed us to optimise our output without changing our workforce. By upgrading our technology, we've significantly improved efficiency and results with our current team. It’s a really practical example of how in-house innovation can create a positive impact across the board!

We’ve got great news to share today — our Foetz site has just passed the 1000 day mark without a single lost-time incident! That means no incidents for more than two and a half years. Congratulations!

As always, this is testament to the hard work, commitment and conscientiousness of our colleagues, who work together everyday to make sure no corners are cut, and everyone goes home safe at the end of their shifts.

To celebrate reaching this magnificent milestone, McBride is rewarding all our colleagues on the Foetz shop floor with a €30 voucher, and there will be coffee and pastries on site for everyone in the office too.

Please join us in celebrating our Foetz site and our hard-working colleagues!

Ask anyone at McBride’s Sallent site in Spain to tell you their favourite day of the year, and there’s a high chance they’ll say Sant Jordi's Day – also known as the Day of Books and Roses.

On the 23rd of April every year, Catalonia celebrates the legend of Sant Jordi killing a dragon and saving a princess, with everyone marking the occasion by exchanging books and roses.

At McBride Sallent, we celebrate by setting up a little stall outside the main entrance and presenting all 200+ of our colleagues (and any suppliers or partners who visit) with a rose.

It’s a lovely way to mark a very special day in our calendar, and it always brings a smile to everyone’s face. In nearby Barcelona, bookshops are packed out, stalls selling handmade crafts and snacks line the streets, and live performances keep everyone entertained.

We also organised an art competition, which saw children from the McBride community submitting drawings that depicted St Jordi’s day, before the winner took home two books of their choice. With beautiful sketches of knights and princesses, castles and dragons, we clearly have some very talented young people in our midst!

One of our top priorities at McBride is ensuring that every one of our 3,500 colleagues has access to a wide range of training and personal development opportunities. Whether working from our offices or based in one of our manufacturing factories, we believe everyone at McBride should have the chance to develop their skills and create the career path that's right for them.

That's why we created our ‘Let's Grow’ development programmes. Whether you're taking the time to reflect as an individual contributor, you're a first-line manager building up your skill set, or you're a senior leader who has been invited to participate in our strategic programme, we've developed a suite of three tailored courses for McBride colleagues.

Delivered in multiple languages through both classroom and live virtual sessions, the courses have the added benefit of bringing together colleagues from different countries and divisions – helping you to extend your network while you learn.

In Denmark, our Holstebro site is in the midst of an important transformation — eliminating odour and reducing noise and visible steam emissions to create a cleaner, quieter environment for the local community.

When the Holstebro site was founded 98 years ago, it was outside of the city, surrounded by fields. Today, nearly a century later, the region is much more residential — a natural evolution that has brought a real sense of responsibility for us to minimise our impact on those who live nearby.

Over the past few weeks, the team has been actively collaborating with external experts, conducting in-depth discussions and organising multiple brainstorming sessions to develop innovative and practical solutions. We have already committed to a significant investment in this project, which will include a new filtration system, an odour-monitoring system and comprehensive engineering works.

These efforts are already showing promising results. Continuous measurements indicate clear and encouraging progress in both emission reduction and noise control. We've also already cut our odour impact levels by 60% — a significant drop that shows our technical changes are working.

Sustainability and transparency are at the heart of McBride's values, so it's really important to us that we're open and honest about this process. We understand how the odour and visible steam could affect some of our neighbours, and we’re deeply committed to investing in solutions to these issues.

This isn't a temporary fix: it's a long-term solution, and we'll be keeping you updated as we progress.
