🚧 Mistake #3: Using Sealant as a “Fix-All”

Fire-resistant sealants play an important role - but they’re not designed to correct poor installation.

We frequently see excessive mastic used to cover oversized cuts, gaps, or poorly fitted cavity barriers. While this can improve appearance, it doesn’t restore the integrity of the system and may conceal defects that could fail in a fire.

⚠️ The risk: sealant cannot replicate the performance of a correctly installed barrier and overuse can give a false sense of compliance.
