A couple of months ago I finished these 2 chunky wall chandler sticks. I was asked to replicate one that the customer already had and make two more.

I think they came out very tidy!!

I recently finished this cat made from horse shoes. I think it came out looking pretty good. They are always a popular item!!

I will be at the Anson Engine museum in Poynton tomorrow for the closing weekend open days. It would be great to see a few familiar faces there.

I will have items on display and for sale and will be doing some demonstrations throughout the day.

I recently finished this set of brackets to hold a large oak beam over a fireplace. Swipe to the last photo!!

The plan was to make them super strong so I made them from 10mm by 40mm, which wasn't going anywhere.

They are simple but effective and fit the job quite nicely.

I recently finished this horse shoe hedge hog. Made from 2 horse shoes, lots of horse shoes nails, a couple washers and a bit of round bar for the feet. It's a bit of a fiddly job getting all the nails welded on but I think it really adds to the look.

This is a recent commission for a custom corner shelf unit. It's pretty simple, but that's what was asked for, and I think it came out really nice with the matt black paint finish.

I got to give the new belt grinder a good go as the shelves required a lot of fabrication and grinding.

I finally finished making this 2x72 belt grinder. I started it a while back, and it got put on the shelf for about a year. I gathered a bit of momentum at the end of last year and have worked on it since to get it finished and I have now been using it for a week or two, and it works great.

I used Jer Schmidt Gen 2 tilting belt grinder plans, which were easy to follow and contained lots of detail for each step of the process.

Time to get grinding some steel!!!

Any recommendations on good types of belts and suppliers would be good to know??

I forgot to post this at Christmas time, but this was a Christmas tree that I made from horse shoes. It took a lot of cleaning to get the horseshoes looking nice, but I think it turned out great. I added some decorative holly leaves to give it a bit of colour for the photos.

What other things could be made from horse shoes?

A pair of steel drumsticks in a heavy metal base.

The base is made from a big chunk of lead, and the drumsticks are made from 14mm bar with a brass brush finish. They are simple, but I think they came out very well.
