Location: Warrington (Countryside office near Daresbury)

Position Type: Part-Time | Monday – Friday | 9:30 am – 2:30 pm (25 hrs/week)

Salary: £20,000 per annum

The Role
Are you a versatile, numbers-focused professional looking for a role that fits around your life? We are Cogent Energy, the UK’s fastest-growing OZEV-registered EV charging company. We are looking for a dedicated Bookkeeper and Administrator to manage our daily financial health and support our external accounting team.

This role is perfect for someone who loves "clean" books. You will be the primary link between our daily operations and our external accountants, ensuring they have everything they need to prepare our annual accounts and tax returns.

Key Responsibilities
1. Bookkeeping & Financial Liaison

Maintain accurate, up-to-the-minute financial records using Xero or QuickBooks.

Liaise with external accountants: Prepare the necessary reports, documentation, and data for them to complete VAT returns and annual accounts.

Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable (Invoicing, payments, and credit control).

Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

Assist with basic payroll data entry and year-end information gathering.

2. Office Administration

Ensure the office runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

Handle data entry, filing, and document management.

Assist management with reports, scheduling, and correspondence.

Manage office supplies and incoming/outgoing mail.

3. Customer Service

Act as the first point of contact for telephone and email inquiries.

Provide basic quotes and follow up on client orders.

Resolve customer queries with a professional, "can-do" attitude.

What We’re Looking For
The Experience: Proven bookkeeping experience with strong knowledge of Xero or QuickBooks. You should be comfortable preparing trial balances and reconciling accounts for external review.

The Tech: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

The Personality: You are highly organized and detail-oriented. You take pride in "tidy" books and enjoy the variety of a role that mixes finance with office support and customer interaction.

The Proximity: Ability to work from our lovely countryside office near Daresbury daily.

Key Responsibilities
• Bookkeeping & Accounts: Total ownership of day-to-day accounts using QuickBooks. This includes processing invoices, bank reconciliations, and managing the "Lead-to-Cash" cycle.

• Regulatory Liaison: Communicate with government offices and energy bodies (OZEV, DNOs, etc.) to handle grants, applications, and compliance paperwork.
