It is with a heavy heart that we open our doors for 2026 as over the Christmas period Martin, our longest serving member of staff, sadly passed away on the 27th December.
‘Our Mart’ worked with us for over 20 years and there was not a working day that went by where he did not have a story to tell us and have us all in fits of laughter. Then along came his side-kick Mick and it was like we had reinvented ESL’s answer to The Chuckle Brother’s! The workplace banter went through the roof and we all loved it!
Banter aside, we must commend Mart on his contribution to help us make ESL what it is today. He was one of the most seen faces of ESL, delivering the daily essentials to our customers and because of his infectious personality, he had the ability to build great relationships which strengthened our business bond with them. For that, we will be forever grateful.
Mart, you have been and always will be our longest serving member of staff because we will make sure that your memory lives on by sharing your funny stories and hilarious one liners. Oh, and that chair in Noel’s office, it will always be yours! If you know, you know!
Our hearts go out to Mart’s wife Christine, his daughter Stacey, his son Ashley and all their family at such a devastating time.
RIP Mart, you will be sorely missed but never forgotten 🤍🤍🤍
