Earlier this year, our roofing apprentice Charlie competed in the UK’s largest construction skills competition, the SkillBuild Regional Qualifiers—and earned himself a place in the National Final taking place this week.

The final is no small challenge: competitors will take on complex roofing tasks, including intricate ornate slating. But as the CITB put it, Charlie is among “the best construction trainees and apprentices from across the UK.”

We are incredibly proud of everything Charlie has achieved so far and wish him the very best of luck in the final.

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to announce that our Roofing Apprentice, Charlie, has made it to the final of the UK Roofing SkillBuild Competition!

After an impressive performance in the Regional Qualifier, Charlie earned a spot among the top 8 roofing students in the UK.

The standard of competition in Charlie’s heat was described as “very high.” Ben Rowlands, NFRC Technical Manager – Slating and Tiling, and a member of the judging panel, commented:
“The general standard is very high this year. We’ve seen a good level of talent from each contestant, so we know the SkillBuild finals will be very competitive later this year.”

The SkillBuild National Final is the ultimate stage of the UK’s largest construction skills competition, where the country’s most talented apprentices and trainees showcase their skills on a national platform.

👏 Congratulations, Charlie! Your hard work, talent, and dedication are truly shining through. We’ll be cheering you on in the finals!

Roofing & Bricklaying apprentice opportunity

We are seeking 1x roofing apprentice & 1x bricklaying apprentice.

More information is available to candidates about what this entails, however we will be VERY selective of candidates and only accept applications from someone who can firstly commit to the following:
• Attend work everyday and have excellent punctuality
• Construction is very physically demanding, so you must be strong and willing to work hard with speed
• Follow instructions but also think for yourself
• Committed and understand the importance of your future career in the industry

Please note:
>The bricklaying apprenticeship is for a qualification in this field, however the role is for all aspects of general building.
>The roofing apprentice will be required to attend college out of the county in week blocks.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to gain experience and a qualification in a skilled trade.
