From Building Sites to Building Trust: The Story Behind Gina’s Services
Some careers begin in an office. Mine began on a building site with muddy boots, a shovel in my hand and a determination to learn.
At just 15 years old, I started working as a labourer alongside my uncle, Rudolf. From new builds to complete house refurbishments, I was introduced to the construction industry at a young age. Those early years taught me the importance of hard work, reliability and taking pride in every job, no matter how big or small.
Learning From the Ground Up
Working with my uncle gave me invaluable hands-on experience, but it also taught me the value of earning people’s trust through quality workmanship. After he moved away, I continued working for various construction companies, gaining further experience on new builds, house refurbishments and general property maintenance.
Later, I moved into recruitment and joined Pettit Group, where I specialised in recruiting skilled construction workers for major building projects across the UK. My role involved working closely with clients, contractors and tradespeople, developing strong leadership, communication and business management skills. It gave me a completely different perspective on the construction industry and provided me with the confidence and experience to eventually build my own company.
Building More Than Just Homes
I’ve always been passionate about building, landscaping and transforming properties. There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing a project evolve from start to finish and knowing you’ve made a real difference to someone’s home. Whether it’s installing fencing, creating a new garden or completing a refurbishment, I genuinely enjoy the process and the results that come from hard work.
How Our Mobile Mechanic Journey Began
Alongside construction, working on cars had always been something my brother, Ladislav, and I enjoyed.
Ladislav is a fully qualified mechanic with over 10 years of experience, having spent years working in professional garages and gaining extensive knowledge across a wide range of vehicles.
We began helping family, friends and local people with vehicle repairs in our spare time. As more people recommended us, demand continued to grow. Over the last two years, what started as a few evening and weekend jobs developed into a full-time mobile mechanic service.
Within just one year, our mobile mechanic business exceeded all expectations. Thanks to word of mouth, repeat customers and our commitment to honest workmanship, we received over 80 five-star Facebook reviews in our first year alone. That support from our customers gave us the confidence to continue expanding our services.
Gina’s Services Today
Today, Gina’s Services is a proud family-run business serving Thanet and the surrounding areas.
I manage the day-to-day running of the business while remaining hands-on with our projects. I work alongside Ladislav on vehicle repairs whenever needed and lead our building, fencing, landscaping and home improvement projects. Together with our trusted team, we’re able to take on projects of all sizes while maintaining the high standards our customers have come to expect.
